On October 1st, this previous Monday, I found out that CDs have officially turned 30 years old. I saw several articles around the internet, such as on Yahoo, talking about it, how a Billy Joel CD was the very first commercial CD sold, and how people were talking about stuff like what their first CD they ever owned was.
I didn't get my first CD until I was 11 years old in 1997. It was actually a movie soundtrack for the movie Steel. I still have that same CD though it mostly doesn't play too well anymore.
Did you know the 1st was the CD's birthday? Do you remember what your first CD you ever owned was?

Hi,
That old? Maybe its the CD that is getting old. First, there was the cassette tape, then came the Betamax and VHS tape for movies which were taken over by the compact disk and the DVD. I still have to check my DVD shelf to see the CD which has the most collection of dust to determine which of them is the oldest. By my reckoning, that was about ten, twenty years ago, the album by Rod Stewart, I think.

Remember when mini discs were supposed to replace them?
The first CD I ever owned was Michael Jackson's HIStory album which I got for birthday.
