Does every expectant mother wear radiation proof clothes?

It is so difficult to make a choice whether to wear radiation proof clothes. The official says it can shield electromagnetic radiation from single direction, but for other directions, it will collect radiation and make more harm. But the question is, why so many pregnant women still buy it? Does it really work or only for their comfort? I can realize the expectant mother's thought--a healthy baby, but the fact is how to do is right for the baby?
