Wow, it's suppose to be down to freezing tonight and a possibility of snow showers tomorrow. It's time to get the winter clothes out and start winterizing our home. Can't believe it's the cold time of the year again. I've heard we're suppose to have a very cold and hard winter this year. Are you ready/prepared for winter? Sounds like it's time to get the hot chocolate, hot tea and some books to cuddle up and stay inside where it's warm.

I like to see snow in movies, but I am not abk¡le to stand so much cold. Winters are mild where I live, but still I try to take my vacations then and go somewhere where the sun is shining.

Hi,
It is very nice that you have cold weather in your place. I never experienced snow showers. I only watched them in movies only. In our city rain is raining and our weather is very moist. In our city winter is not so cold. But we are happy with the pleasant weather and enjoy hot ginger tea.

When I was younger our family lived in South Dakota. I can remember when the snow was so deep it covered our clothes line, you don't see that too much in the movies!

I hear ya jodee! Yesterday it was in the 80s here and today 53! The rest of this week is supposed to be cold even freezing over night. I guess I should start closing windows....
I prefer winter to summer so I am ok. I just am not looking forward to hearing people complain.... sorry I need a vacation. I'm a bartender so I hear people complain all day!

Yes, being a bartender, even if the weather is nice, people complain! I use to be a waittress and I had several interesting discussions with people!

Despite owning our own standing firewood supply, we just bought a truckload in this week as autumn has caught us by surprise and we haven't even starting cutting, let alone drying, any winter firewood.
Thankfully we're not down to freezing yet though! Was out in my PJs this morning and it's T-shirt weather still by mid-morning.

I don't know where you are but it is very mild here. I did put on a long sleeved shirt today for the first time. The air is still on 80 and it still kicks on some, though it is already fall. I have my ceiling fan on for comfort. I kind of hope we get snow this year. Last year I only wore a coat two or three times.

We're getting ready although our weather the last few days has been absolutely terrific. I have a good size can of hot chocolate mix and a spill proof mug in my locker at work. It's nice to have that to sip on after cycling to work in the cold. I expect to go through quite a lot of it before spring.

I know the weather here has been up in the 70's and 80's. People were wearing shorts and t-shirts yesterday, but come evening people were wearing jeans and hoodies. There's a saying for Nebraska (to the effect of)"if you don't like the weather today, stick around, tomorrow will be different."

It feels good to have it cool for a change.....yesterday almost 80 degrees...today in the 50's. I love sweats weather! I am ready as I"ll ever be for the most part....I do have to get the basement cleaned and get it ready for a new washer and dryer.....so that is all I have left to do before the snow flies. I have an old house and they need to bring the appliances in through the outside doors.

I also have started putting the summer clothes away. Most of it anyway. short sleeved shirts are still needed because the day has been starting out cool but warming up in the afternoon. Hot chocolate sounds lovely though. I think I will pick some up tonight!

Oh, I'm glad there's no winter in my country; however, I sometimes wish that we have it. I'd like to experience playing with snow, skiing, etc. I guess they're fun. I guess you have to prepare a lot for winter. Enjoy it. Happy mylotting.

I am not usually prepared for winter and snow, but neither slows me down anyway. I must be some type of freak because I actually work harder in the cold weather. I embrace the winter because I work harder, as a growing weightlifter, I like that I can get bigger during this time, especially when I eat more food, especially eat heavier food, pig out, and burn it off like I ate a salad. Or go outside and be a good samaritan and help push stuck cars out of the snow, when it is just more exercise for me. But I went too far because now I help people push rucks out of the snow. That's how big and strong I have gotten. Also, in the cold, I can buy more food since I can use the cooler in the garage, or have a stash of food in my trunk (the trunk of my car finds itself full of jugs of milk in the winter because I drink a ton of milk). I usually wear a coat if I am not busy while outside, and that is if I can fit the same coat from the last year. Sometimes, I don't, but last year, I bought a coat that was too big, so I can get some extra life out of it. If I am busy, or I just came from heavy lifting, I don't wear a coat. Because I hang outside for long periods of time, I have earned a nickname of polar bear, and that was because I didn't have a car. The only thing I don't like that at my family's house, they have a snow blower, but they have yet to get it repaired, which gives them less motivation to have it fixed when their musclebound son comes over, and can do the job without breaking a sweat.

hi Jodee, the forecasts say we get a Golden Autumn and I am very happy about this. I am glad when it wont get too cold too soon but you are right, hot chocolate and books are wonderful so are thick soups which I will soon start preparing.
But snow in October??? Thats much too early.
