Hi friends. Lets be honest. T20 is the game for the new generation. Many people who start those t20 tournament say it was created to help the young upcoming generation of players. Team India sent 4 or 5 guys above the age of 30. The seniors aka experienced players got test and odi to showcase their talent. Why don't they let the t20 formats for the younger upcoming generation? We will get more energy, more fearless cricket and good exposure to the new guys. Isn't it why sachin, dravid & dada stayed away from the 2007 edition of the cup?

hello,
what u said is true but i don't think that twenty 20 is only a game of young players. senior players can play a big role in this format. just look at the other teams like sri lanka, australia and west indies. their senior players are really playing awesome and they are among the highest run getters in the tournament. indian players can also do that if they try. yeah young players are very much important in this format f the game. they create a good atmosphere in the field. team india really need some change in their team that's true. lets see what happens in the next world cup.

well agreed .when talking about australia and sri lanka, they had this core group consisting of senior guys.australia had wason, hussey and hogg while srilanka had dilshan, sanga and mahela.
they are the older and experienced guys while the others in the squad are relatively young and inexperienced.for instance aussie captain Bailey is almost 30 years old but played only 13 ODI and 12 T20s.
when it comes to team india, they had sehwag,Gambhir,Dhoni, yuvi, zaheer.all are above 30 and not very quick on the field barring yuvi. ofcourse their performance with bat and ball was below par.
my suggestion.take out the above mentioned guys.kohli, raina, ashwin played more than enough T20s ,domestic and international.keep them as core and add players like tiwary, rohit, rayudu and talents straight from u19. then you have youth and experience with some energy on the field and ofcourse kohli can be the captain.

According to me a perfect team should be a good mixure of young and experienced players. Here Experience means they need not be senior players of the age 35 years. For the Next world cup india should go with a energetic team which has the lot of potential and talent to grow and learn

T20 is a game for youngsters. One of the weakness of this team was that we had quite a few players to hide in the field like Sehwag, Balaji and Ashwin. That really does not help in this format. So I think the team for 2 years down the line needs to have more youngsters and people who can field better all round.
Cheers!

I think that for the next T20 s, we should indeed groom younger players. At the same time, we do need a few experienced players even for T-20, and selection should be purely on current form and merit.

If India wants to do well in next t20 world cup they have to choose a pool of players and they need to play more t20 internationals as a team.In present scenario Indian team plays few t20 matches and when World cup comes , they choose players based on star value and IPL performances.Hence team looks like collection rather than a cohesive unit.No wonder they failed to qualify for semis in last three World Cups.

I am very disapointed from India , they should give Rahane , and other good players from Ipl a chance . Come on , Gambhir , Zaheer , Harbajaan they are out of form . They should try some new players , for sure .

In 2007 the decision of the seniors gave the chance to youngsters and we were able to win the tournament. The time has came now Dhoni, zaheer, sehwag, irfan, and some others to voluntarily move away from the T20 team . They can play IPL as sachin does.
There are a many talented players in the Under19 team who are fearless and can win the game from almost any situation.

Sorry for off-topic, but I truly believe we should divert our focus from cricket to other games. Too many nonsense going on there.

Many newcomers are moving in.we cannot rely on a completely new team.one match wonders cannot replace the experienced cricketers.see the other teams, they win when we loose, are they a complete new team?
