i feel silly though thinking about this.
yesterday morning i went to our physician, i have been feeling this pain my hip / abdomen side, plus painful urination..and i know this must be another case of u.t.i and have been having diarrhea lately.grrr.
went to our physician and he asked to undergo ultrasound as my urinary track infection is getting frequent and the pain was unbearable yesterday.. and had urinalysis too.
anyways, i had the urinalysis yesterday afternoon and had to go back to work so i did not wait for the results and when i went to the ultrasound area of the hospital it was already full and they won't accept any more patients... so i resorted to have it done outside the hospital..
so i went this morning and the line was already long but since i was early i got number 6 and waited for it, after the procedures the radiologist said there was nothing wrong and went to the cashier and paid a whooping 1000 pesos.
i honestly do not know what to think - i paid 1000 pesos but got clean results...?lol or should i be like what the i paid 1000 and it should be positive for something! hahahaha i am really crazy for thinking this way. but right now after all my thinking and craziness, i should really be thankful the results are clean, even tho i paid much atleast i know i am safe inside, no cysts, no mass or anything...
doctor said my urinalysis was a bit bad though.. but gave some meds for it and lots of water and cranberry juice for me.

Hey at least you are sure now that it isnt that severe - so cheer about this one more dear jazel
I wished I could get some cans of cranberry juices here. They are good healers and I have read some places on Internet that they are also good for my health conditions.

I still think it's money well spent though. As they say, health is wealth, and having that positive result should make you happy, because although you have spent a not so small amount for that process at least, there won't be more problems and expenditures to worry about after the result. Get well soon.

Haha. Atleast, there's nothing wrong inside you. We are lucky we have a health card that covers everything except maternity, hehe. You must drink plenty of water and if you have urine infection try to drink serpetina but this herbal plant is very bitter though it's very effective and natural.

yeah, 1000pesos for your peae of mind. Sometimes though, it pays to read medical facts and researches on what to do first when you encounter those kind of feeling in your body. Think that those doctors spent most of their lives studying and the payment maybe just okay. lol.
Anyway, good for you that you are okay. :)

Hi jazel_juan, good know that everything went fine, as piece of advice, if you doctor gave some antibiotics that good for 5 to 7 days please finished it even if you already feel better to kill all the bacterial and avoid any bacterial resistance in antibiotics. Drinking lots of water is a really big help, also try the coconut juice it help to cure urinary tract infection too.

Yes he did gave me those meds for 7 days, as for coconut juice, a friend here advised that coconut juice is only effective if it is fresh and i could not find any fresh ones here so i resorted to drinking cranberry juice which i also confirmed to my ob that is also very effective for urinary track infections.

i am prone to have UTI before, my last UTI history, i was pregnant with my second son which to my dismay he is also infected by it.since then, i used alternative medicine. as for me even if its not fresh (coconut juice)is still effective, also try ripe papaya and cucumber. my 2nd son is now 18 years old and i am UTI free. try to search it online. drink coco juice before breakfast.

it happened to me around december or january. i just decided to have complete blood tests and show it to my doctor. kind of like voluntary annual checkup. i was afraid he'd say something about diabetes or cholesterol because we have that in my family, but he said they're all normal. in fact, he's even envious!
do follow everything he said, the meds and lots of liquids so you feel better faster. our health is something we really have to invest in to avoid bigger problems and expenses in the future.

Well its good there there are no cysts but I do understand the feeling of dissapointment at spending that much money on something and feeling like it was pointless. I hope that you feel better soon. I've been plagued with so many utis over the years they can be really awful.

hi there jazel_juan,
upon reading your post, well, i think it is just fine, at least the results are negative. any how, you can still earn that money eventually so better not to regret since the results are negative. it is more better than having a positive results isn't it.

Hi, this is very common to most of us. We are hesitant on spending money for check ups even on those times that we feel that there's something wrong with us. It is good to know that you're alright. I understand how you feel since I've also experience that before, spending thousands for nothing just to make sure you're okay. Just think that you pay that 1000 for your peace of mind as you won't be bother anymore that you might be having some problems concerning your health.
Just now I realized that it is worth having a health card especially during times like this. You actually don't have to spend money for consultations and laboratory tests as it can be charged to your health card. I do feel sometimes that it is useless and why do I need to pay this card monthly but during emergencies, it is really very helpful.

Haha,I know how you feel friend as sometimes it's hard to let go of money especially if you don't have the budget for such unexpected expenses. That's why we should always stay healthy as having sickness is expensive, lol! All medications especially x-rays or ultrasounds are quite expensive nowadays. It's better to have no money but without any ailments or sickness than to have money but you are sick. Health is wealth!
But hey! Cheer up! At least you had good news, right?

Hello jazel
It's really frustrating to know that but on the other hand, i think it's a relief to know that you don't have any problems in your body..:) Health is wealth. You can still look for another 1000 pesos..:)

I find many people say that they are asked to have many tests when they feel sick and pay a lot of money for them. However, the results are always that they just have some minor ailments. I know it is doctors' duty to assure that their patients are in a good condition, so they will suggest patients to have those tests. However, some of them may take this chance to make money. What a pity!:(

I was not really thinking about that actually, our physician has been in my family for more than 20 years so i do not think he was thinking about the money, he actually knows our family history of illnesses and sickness thats why he took precaution and asked me to go for ultrasound to know what is really wrong.. or if there is none.

Maybe I am over-sensitive. I also believe that there are still many good persons who care about our health sincerely. Nothing can better than a healthy body. Therefore, you are lucky to some degree. Just be happy:)
