i bought a new laptop..old one ran its course after faithful service of about 4 years, the average lifespan ,i think of PCs if regularly used before retirement. The OS was XP which is outmoded, the pace or speed of IT developments is staggering.
Anyway, it came with the standard os windows 7 and browsers IE 8. Since i am regular user of firefox for working and google chrome, downloaded them. Then i figured ,what the heck, try out the safari browser, curious to compare how they measure up to each other.
been a month n must say ,in terms of surfing speed, G-chrome seems to have a slight edge, not by much ,fractions of seconds maybe, compared to fox and IE and safari.
but my hangup with it is that there are so many apps that it is a bit muddling to sift through. Of all the browsers , Safari feels to me a bit more user friendly.
easy to navigate and not get lost in a way.i still use F-fox for working but when surfing, either chrome or safari, depending on mood. I quite like the lay out or design of safari, gives one a very neat ,organised feeling.
what is your personal preference in browsers?
Do you use one exclusively or rotate using them in your PCs?

Well ,Congrats for you new laptop . In my case, my first preference is chrome and firefox come second . I find browsing in chrome very fast and i really enjoy the outlook additional to the shortcut . The new chrome store is also very good to spent leisure time .

I have them all installed but I use Opera as a main browser right now and Firefox for launching some web applications like Quake Live. Had to remove all addons and stuff from it so I can get a better performance out of it.
