Please continue making excuses for Obama!

Come on guys, we need more excuses! Tell me more about how Obama lost because of elevation, or because he was tired, or because America is racist, or because Romney is a great performer who put on a show. Keep it coming. Surely it couldn't be because he's a crappy president without a record to stand on. I love this crap because the more you guys make excuses, the more it brings attention to the fact that Obama got destroyed in the debate. If Obama and his surrogates had half a brain they'd be trying to put this behind them and move "forward". What do you guys think? Is it going to help Obama to keep looking back and bringing attention to the one of the most lopsided debates in presidential history?

All he could talk about was the $5 trillion tax cut thing which a fact check showed was false. He certainly couldn't go through his accomplishments that helped the economy, which there were basically none, and enumerate then like Romney for his goals. His showed just how much more of an organized thinker Romney is. It also showed that Romney would be much more willing to work with everyone to try to actually get things done unlike Obama who has been unwilling to compromise on anything that would help the economy.

You said it! And we need someone who can turn things around and who is good at business! Just the opposite of most democrats these days I'm afraid!

I've heard several excuses. I like the theory, though, that the media and his staff have worked for 4 years to insulate him from criticism and never challenged anything he said. He thought the debate would be a piece of cake, just get up there and recite the same tired old buzz words. But he was surprised with an enthusiastic opponent who was armed with information, facts, statistics and a knowledge of what's been going on in government the past few years. I'm really looking forward to the next debate between Ryan and Biden, if only for the entertainment value. Maybe I'm wrong but I think Obama chose the most tractable, pliable person for VP that he could find, one that was personable but not too bright. The contrast between Biden and Ryan is like night and day--at least, as far as I've seen. Maybe Biden will have some surprises up his sleeve but Mr. Obama surely didn't.

I agree that the theory of him getting accustomed to yes-men may be accurate. He's surrounded himself with Chicago politicians who think the same way he does. He's also been spending his time going on shows like The View where they just fawn over him instead of asking him tough questions. To me though, he is just a weak and boring debater. The only reason he didn't lose the debates in 2008 was that McCain was just as boring. I don't think Biden is unintelligent. I just think he has this bad habit of telling the truth, which is a big no-no in the White House.

Now that the VP debate is over and Vice President Biden wiped the floor with Lyin' Ryan I'm curious, did it live up to your expectations...lol? Annie

It is surely helping Romney! I have heard so many comments on what caused his lame performance. The fact that he couldn't say anything other than the few talking points they drilled into him over three days, show he can not speak with out his teleprompter and somebody else giving him words.

Obviously one of us has been living in some kind of alternate reality...lol! As you know, I'm a regular viewer of MSNBC and even there not a single one of their hosts or regular commentators didn't admit the President had lost the debate. Admittedly I've heard some comments here and there about pesky, trivial things such as FACTS, but we all know they're not what matters in a debate. Whatever...anyway, I'm not afraid to admit to having been disappointed by President Obama's performance and especially all of the opportunities to set things straight that he missed or should I say simply let slip away but that doesn't mean I'm "impressed" by Mitt. I know he did exactly what he'd wanted to do and that was shake the Etch-A-Sketch and fool a few people into believing his "severely conservative" days are over and he's back to being, in Bill Clinton's words, "Ole Moderate Mitt". NO he's not planning on lowering taxes on the top income earners (sure he is!) and YES those with preexisting conditions will be able to get health insurance under his plan (sorry, but no they won't). If Obama had been on top of his game Willard wouldn't have gotten away with it but he wasn't so we need to move forward. No excuses. Mitt gave an award winning performance as a used car salesman who'd had a few too many cups of coffee except that he wasn't nearly as honest as the typical used car salesman. Annie

I got this from a friend this morning and it's hilarious--shows what Japan thinks of the debate and they're pretty much right on as far as I'm concerned. It gave me a few laughs so I thought I would share it with you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNhUI8ktHuw

He didn't like it much when Romney backed him into a corner and corrected him several times. I especially liked it when Romney said something to the effect, just because you keep repeating something doesn't make it true. Like you I'm tired of the excuses, he's done nothing for this country it's time we get someone who will.

..."just because you keep repeating something doesn't make it true." That's something the whole party and also lots of the folks need to figure out!!

I think his followers will listen to him make prepared speeches written in all probability by someone else with their eyes on what is popular, and then he can use his teleprompter and his followers will be impressed.

I think that the left was just so surprised at Obama's performance that they are still trying to console themselves somehow. The liberal media can't really help themselves, their cycle is always set to "spin". This situation being as bad as it is, the spin is taking on a weird and surreal tone. So, as long as Obama was too tired, worn out from being president, gasping for oxygen in the thin air, being more polite, holding back his genius, protecting himself from the racist Fox news who would label him "angry black man" if he disputed anything that Romney says, the liberal media can still feel like the world makes sense. This will last a few days and definitely not beyond the VP debate. Then the left will be looking forward to the Town Hall debate between Obama and Romney. Normally I would expect them to be predicting Obama to outshine Romney by far. But following this first fiasco, they may keep quiet until they see how it goes.
