It's my experience, when I had to seek for a foreigner. I had to have a conversation with them and recorded it, too. I had visited Jogjakarta, Indonesia , to meet a foreigner who must be English native speaker. That was the requirement from my late lecturer. whenever i wanted to meet one of the foreigner, they had lunch, read books, etc. the biggest question for you guys is how to begin a talk with them without disturbing them..?? I'm Indonesian, then of course it's a matter of culture that I don't know...
Thank you :)

I'm biracial so I can pretty much go both ways. We were having lunch last week and an English guy approached my sister and me. He said that he is here for only a semester in school and plans to go back afterwards. So he just basically said hi then introduced himself and ask if he could sit down.
Just don't be self conscious and not try to be someone that you are not because believe me, it will show.
