I twisted my ankle yesterday

I was trying to rearrange the furniture in my bedroom for the past few days. But I really took my sweet time, so, my room was in a mess! I have so many things lying on the floor, clothes, books, bags and etc. I think I also have too many clothes; t.shirts, skirts, pants that I think I should either sell or give away. I really have no idea how my family manages to accumulate so many things.
Yesterday a friend invited me to go for a free lunch at a homestay. I've been there once and I've blogged about my culinary experience there and so, the homestay operator really likes it. As I was rushing to finish one job, before going out to the homestay event, I accidentally stepped on some things on my floor and twisted my ankle.
So, today, as I am sharing this story to you all, my ankle is hurting a lot. It has swollen and the nerve surrounding my ankle has turned green. I will use the 'heating oil' later to circulate any hardened blood. Hopefully, my ankle will recover and I can stop limping in these coming few days.

Hi there micha5088!
I sprained my foot last July.. So I know how that feels.. and i hate to feel that pain again.. and learned my lesson to always be wary of what i'm doing.. I sprained my foot, not because of messy environment lol but i was playing dance central on xbox at that time.. and i slipped while i was dancing.. then my foot was so swollen and it turned violet the next day i woke up... and i was like panicking on what i should do... so i just wrapped it with the brown bandage thing.. that was the first foot sprain i had in 20 years of my life... and i never want to experience that again lol.. i hated the stairs because of that.. i would even crawl up the stairs, when i can't really balance myself on one foot before.. but it's fine.. but i think it would take weeks for that to heal.. after a week, my foot was back to normal but still violet.. on the second week, the violet thing was gone, but on the third and fourth week.. no any physical signs of it, but when it's cold, or just by walking at the streets, sometimes pain would just come up.. Hope you get well soon! and ya, to lessen the pain, maybe you could try rubbing off some ice on the swollen part, it helped me a lil..

I don't have stairs in my house because I live in a single storey house. But I can relate to your story, climbing up the staircase with a sprained foot, ouchhh that must have given you excruciating pain.
I have sprained my foot before, probably this is the third, fourth time?? I can't remember anymore. I expected myself to recover, maybe, in one week's time, But surprise! surprise! Today is the fourth day since the incident happened but yesterday I was already walking normally. yuhu! I remember when I sprained my foot last time, I couldn't walk properly, for abour a week. Probably, the 'twist' wasn't so bad this time.
Happy mylotting ftheron!

Oh yes, maybe I should visit the doctor or maybe a massager, since this involves blood circulation problem. I'll think about it.
The swelling has since reduced a bit, so if this continues, I just rest at home and exercise my legs.
Thanks for responding and happy mylotting!

A messy home can be hazardous to one's health. You're fortinate that you got away with an ankle sprain. It could have been worse like tripping and falling and hitting your head on something hard and sharp. I grimace just to think of the outcome. Anyway, the lesson to be learnt here is to ensure a neat and tidy home which will result in a safe home. Hope you recover soon. Perhaps you should see a doctor?

What you've said are very true succeednow. Another lesson to learn from this incident is, stop buying things that are not necessary. This way, I will save myself from having to figure out how and where to put all the 'extra' things in the house. Hmmm...now I am thinking of having a garage sale. Thanks for responding.
Happy mylotting!

That's an awful ouchy! I have the same experience and I learned from it. It's actually one of my siblings leaving a toy near my bed so when I get up in the morning, still groggy with sleep there wasn't enough time for me to react and I fell and twisted my ankle.
