Sanga and Mahela have appeared in 4 finals and this is one occasion when the Gayle storm will surely demolish the cricket edifice of Srilanka held upright by the their twin towers Sanga and Mahela. what do you say?

What if SL makes a dusty wicket which suits their team? WI has never beaten SL in T20s and their problems against spinners is well known.

Srilanka will play dirty, that is for sure. But this West Indian team has peaked at the right time. Mahela, Sanga and Dilshan are due to fail, given their consistency so far. Badree and Sunil Narine have done amazingly well so far and can match the Lankans. Rampaul is bowling well as is Edwards, if gets to play ahead of Andre Russell. Marlon,Bravo, Pollard are coming alive at the right moment and if Gayle succeeds again this will be a final to remember.

i am not very happy that the lankan middle order hasnt been tested yet whereas windies middle order contribute very well. It wont be easy for gayle to smash malinga and kulasekara not to mention their mystery spinners. Though windies look favourites because of the all round abilities i would expect a close finish in the finals. Dont mind another super over though.

This time it was Marlon Samuels who smashed the Lankans even as Gayle did not blow. The Lankans were cautious and once it started drizzling the skipper, of all people panicked and the Caribbeans were able to split open the homeside, flat track bullies. Having said that Srilanka don't do well outside the subcontient. If they had somehow won, it would have inflated them needlessly. After so many years SL is not a cricket nation, people will travel far to see. At best it is a glorified minnow with creditable performances in the shorter formats. But outside the sub continent they are weak.

I hope that Gayle plays the same way he played against Australia. Hopefully the groin injury is not that bad and he should be back in action on Sunday. I am supporting the Windies in the final and that would mean that Gayle would have to fire up front. Cheers! Ram

Bowling line up of Sri Lanka is equally powerful to their batting line up. So Gayle factor should work in a tremendous way to overcome Sri Lanka.

Hey thanks for posting this discussion. Yes in the Sunday's showdown, i am expecting great fireworks from Gayle again just the way he blew away the Aussies in the semis. He would be the biggest threat for the Sri Lankans and he would be targeted for sure so that he is sent to the pavilion at the earlier for if he finds his feet on the field then he is simply unstoppable even the world's best bowler would fear to bowl him. It would be great to watch him out in the finals. Mahela and Sanga have to come out with a solid strategy to stop him. What say?
