Hello! :)
If you enjoy reading, maybe you could learn how to speak a new language? I know people say that language learning is best for young learners, but it can be a great way to stimulate your brain.
For something that has products in the end, maybe you could try pottery or painting perhaps? They're also said to be great stress relievers.
Good luck with your class!:D

As has already been intimated, it is very difficult to advise on a subject because I have no knowledge of what would interest you. Interest is the main key here because it will be far easier to learn if you enjoy the subject, and it would also serve a greater purpose knowing something that you are more likely to use.

It is great that you have decided that you should take a class. Have you ever thought about taking some kind of design class? That way you would be able to make the most of your skills at crafting and you would enjoy it as well. It sounds as though you are really interested into creative things so maybe painting would be something for you. If not, then things like cooking would be interesting because it is always nice to be able to find new things to cook that you've never been able to before, and you would be able to show your friends and family what an amazing cook you were.

I think you should take class of your own interest. Because if you take class of your own interest then you can make it more effective by your variations. As you say that very soon you will be 62 years old then I want to say that you may take yoga class. Because at this age you need to fit your body. And if you know all about Yoga then you can take class also.

Have you thought about taking any art classes at an art institute? Most you can do online from the comfort of your own home. My husband attends an art institute from home and he loves it. He is studying media arts and animation, but there are all different types of art classes that you can take. Especially with you being a crafty person. They send you materials in the mail to work with. You can draw, paint, computer graphics. I've watched some of the animated stuff that they can do on the computer in photo shop and other programs, and that is definitely enough to stimulate your mind! Good Luck =)

Hi MsControversy
To be truthful I have taken many art classes
and can't think of one that I've missed.
We have local colleges that I'll probably use.
I would like to learn more about photo shop type programs.
Sounds like your husband is enjoying his experience with the classes.
Thank you for your ideas.

I was thinking today that I might like to take a class on upholstery. I have taken med related classes and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I love going to school. Maybe you should take some kind of an animal first aid class or husbandry class. You have always had a passion for animals.

RAYDENE!!! Where have you been?
Good to have you back.
I second Elic's suggestion of hanging out on the 'Lot more.

Based on your post I would say you could take a computer class, an art class, a writing class, or something that had a local focus like a history class.

hello raydene...I wanted to make some suggestions for you, so I went to your profile page to get an idea of you, but found it impossible to read. Not sure if you were aware of this, or maybe that's the way you want it, but thought I'd let you know. You mentioned that you have all the degrees you want, but I have no idea what they are or what your career is or was. My favorite classes when I went to college were psychology related, but you probably already did that. Since you seem to like being creative, how about interior design, or perhaps get into real estate? The choices are many.

Look into the math- or sciences-catalogs: subjects where there's always a "right" (that doesn't hinge on 'how people feel about it')
Which math or science interests you?

Don't you want to develop your speaking skills? Find a Toastmasters' club in your area and be a member there. You will meet new people and interact with them. You will be assigned to give and deliver speeches every meeting. That is very stimulating, isn't it?
