It cannot escape the attention of people. I think it is allowed to post photos where name of the site is not given,

Ravi did you read the photo Guidelines because it is there that we are told what myLot think, which is what counts.
Many users upload images and then later admin deletes them - but those deletions are not notified and neither do they appear on the homepage. Go back and check some and see for yourself.

Yes I agree Ravi. Someone will see it with all of that going on. Its a matter of if people will report it or just let it go too.

What is copyright and what is free for anyone to use (and even more so, who owns the copyright of things you find on the Internet) is one of the most difficult things to ascertain.
Generally, if you *cannot find a specific notice saying that an image is completely copyright-free/in the public domain*, then you should assume that it is not and that someone, somewhere COULD bring an action against any person publishing it without authority ... and that would mean MyLot if you posted the picture anywhere on this site.
We don't want that, of course, because if MyLot were ever to lose a court case and have to pay several hundred thousand dollars, all of us would NOT be able to be paid for several months. Can you imagine what MyLot members would do to you if YOU were the person who posted that image?
Oh ... don't believe that you could not easily be traced! It was very easy for me to find your real name, your photo and where you are studying in less than three minutes from the 'footsteps' you have left. There can't be too many people with your name at 22.7°N 72.87°E.

Incidentally, that image of Johnny Depp is probably NOT in the public domain. The photographer who took it, almost certainly retains the copyright but it is a 'publicity' photo and so it is unlikely that anyone would take action. Better avoid some uncertainties, so I rarely upload any images here.

I save myself a whole lot of potential grief by uploading pictures I took myself. I also will occasionally create an image to add. If it's all your own work you will never have anything to worry about. Just make sure it is appropriate to the discussion.

Hi Sarju! Because I am not very certain about those pictures, I would only upload pictures I had taken personally from of my camera.
