I just came across this tutorial, to turn the old t-shirt into a tote bag. Recently, I was just thinking of making a bag from a piece of cloth for my son to keep his alphabet toys. I think I am just going to make this, it'll be much easier and faster. If you are interested of making one, just see the instructions here: http://www.instructables.com/id/FASTEST-RECYCLED-T-SHIRT-TOTE-BAG/#step1

Well, I have to admit that I am definitely not the queen of repurposing items that are no longer useful in my home, however, I have come up with some good ways of turning something old into something new in the past. I've just never really been able to think of what to use an old t-shirt for, with the exception of using them as rags. I read these instructions and this idea seems so straight forward and easy to do that I think that my daughter would be able to make one of them. I did bookmark the page so that I can refer to it later because I can think of a lot of great uses for this type of a tote bag.

I always donate the old t-shirts to the charity organization, until recently I found out I can actually use the old t-shirts to make some dolls too. ^_^

Hi kaka! Recycling is really a very good idea. I am also fond of doing things like this if I have free time. I have a small sewing machine and it's really fun if we can make something out of the things we don't use anymore.

hi aries, yeah, you are right! I got some unused cloth from my mum, and I am trying to use hose cloth to make some toys for my sons. I've made some bean bags, small bags for my son to keep some little stuffs, and a knitting needle bag for myself. I am going to make this too!

I just read the contents of the link and it's really a useful site, not only the tote bag but there are still tutorials for other things that can be recycled.

That's a good idea, I think my siblings could also use these tote bags to organize and keep their stuff. We have lots of shirts that can't be repaired properly like huge holes on the underside of the sleeves and I hate to just throw these out. I usually use these as rags but the quality of the fabric is too good; at least now I have a new idea.

I own lots of cloth bags and NEVER remember to take them with me to the store - don't'cha know... Still, I think I could make cool bags and give them for gifts! Something new from jewelry gifts!

This is indeed a wonderful idea and since t-shirts are made of very good and long lasting fabric these bags will not get worn out fast.
