Ring around the kitty

My morning habit is to let the dogs out for a half hour exercise time, plus that they get some fresh air and I have a chance to get their breakfast ready and clean their pen before I let them back in. Of course Little Bit (my mini dachshund) stands outside and barks for nearly a half an hour. I then let them back in and they get their breakfast. C.D. (the other mini dachshund) races for the couch when I open the door and let them back in. He bounces off the couch and races through the house and then jumps back on the couch. Usually the cats disappear when I let the dogs back in, but they are adjusting to C.D. and his antics. Especially since he got schooled by Dinglebeary about chasing cats. Nothing like four claws in the nose to change one's mind about chasing cats.
This morning I was treated to a new show, it was the old cowboys and indians show of the indians racing around the cowboys. Khuay loves my footstool that has a broken board so it fits his body beautifully. Plus he loves the fact that the footstool rocks back and forth.
Khuay was laying on the footstool when the dogs came flying back in. C.D. circled the footstool on his way through to the kitchen. Khuay watched C.D. and decided that it would be fun to attack the whirlwind. As C.D. came flying back through, Khuay flopped over on his side and swatted at C.D. C.D. didn't even notice as he ran around the footstool headed for the kitchen again. Khuay "played dead" as C.D. came back into the family room and again ran around the footstool. As C.D. went by the first time, Khuay batted at C.D.'s fanny. Of course C.D. was going at full speed and by the time he realized that he had been swatted, Khuay was laying on the footstool playing possum. C.D. looked around, rather puzzled, and started around the footstool again. As he ran by again, Khuay reached out with his white and red paw and swatted C.D. again. C.D. stopped and looked at his fanny a second time, peeked up at the cat on the footstool playing possum, and then continued on his journey. As C.D. raced into the kitchen again, Khuay raised his head and watched C.D. running around in the kitchen, looking for kitty treats that might still be on the floor.
It didn't take long before C.D. raced back into the family room, and of course around the footstool. As Khuay spotted C.D. on his way back to the family room, he dropped his head so it lolled over the side of the footstool so he could watch C.D. come through. Sure enough, as C.D. went flying by a paw reached out and he swatted C.D. in the fanny. This time C.D. didn't stop, instead he jumped up on the couch. Khuay was still laying with his head lolling over the side of the footstool, with his eyes half closed. Suddenly, out of the blue, C.D. jumped from the couch to the footstool on top of Khuay! Of course the footstool rocked and with the rocking motion and the momentum for C.D.'s leap the footstool toppled over sending C.D. and Khuay flying to the floor and sending them both skiing across the linoleum and crashing into the dog pen. Khuay took a second too long to get up and found himself being slobbered on by a mini dachshund...C.D. was being a total gentleman and checking out Khuay and making sure he wasn't hurt...by washing him thoroughly with his tongue.
It's always these moments that you don't have your camera handy...it would have been a great presentation on You Tube!
Have your companion animals been entertaining lately?

I'm afraid my cat KC has such a boring life of a pet in my household. She is an only furbaby and there's no one else here for her to "play" with like that so perhaps if she had a companion of some sort it might be different. I always enjoy your stories though, they are a great read. Heehee

U seem to enjoy all those antics they do. I miss my dog but know that i don't need another one to look after.

I am astounded, as I thought I was the only one who had a passionate rocker cat. Tiger likes to sit on the glider rocker or on the yard swing or on the porch swing when they are moving. My pets do not play, they only demand. Usually from me, as I am the mama.

Diva has been playing with indivisible things on the floor. Nef goes running through the house like she's a kitten, and not about 10! Daisy and Kismet chase each other all over!
I go to get dressed and Booboo comes flying into my bed and rolls around, even more fun if he's pinned down my clothes!

One morning I had laid my clothes out on the bed and then went to the bathroom. I came back in and started getting dressed...I picked up my shorts and about jumped out of my skin! Khuay had crawled under my shorts, without disrupting the way they were laying, and had settled down for a nap. I'm not to sure which of us was more startled, Khuay sky rocketed when I lifted up the shorts! It took about an hour for him to come out of hiding!!!

Yep, another video moment, came and went...
I remember Snowball, my daughter's black cat, would hide around a corner or under something when Zoe, our White German Shepherd went past, she'd run out, smack Zoe, and then hide... It was hilarious, watching this cat who probably was barely 6 pounds, go after an 80 pound dog like that...

Ohh... what a bittersweet story, thanks for sharing...Though Zoe and Snowball didn't have that kind of relationship, in fact Snowball hates everyone, including my daughter..The poor thing was probably abused before we got her, so she only comes out of hiding to eat and use the litter box...
