Doctored pitches always gets you in trouble.

The pitch which was used in SL-WI final was made especially to hugely favor SL spinners.Curators made a dust bowl who would slow down immensely just after few games being played on it. SLC didnt learn from their past experience when 6-7 years back they made such doctored pitches to beat touring Aussies team lead by Ponting. They lost test series badly back then.NZ doctored pitches when India toured in 2004 ,they manged to beat India in bilateral series but lost in World cup,India always had the upper hand since then over NZ.There are lot of examples like these, coming back to this match obviously SL were desperate to win this final and obviously thought that their batsman are experts on playing such pitches, may be they hoped for some dew factor which may ease the pitch later on but overall it was a very negative approach which resulted into their loss.WI bowling has struggled on normal subcontinent pitches in the past and there was no need for such slow wicket,SL made things complicated for themselves, kindly share your views.

thats a bit harsh.they had just 3 venues and had to host 27 mens world cup games.not to mention the 3 games from women's semi-finals and finals at columbo.
sure its just 40 overs and sometimes 80 overs a day but with some bad weather and not much time to prepare,i believe the ground curators have done a excellent job this world cup.
not many dual bounce matches is a good example.

Well the question is on intentions, SLC has been making such pitches to favor their team in the past too.We remember a pitch made in recent test series against Australia where ICC had to officially warn SLC and pitch curator that made such pitch.A decade ago they did the same in a Champions trophy followed by Australia tour i mentioned. When SLC has negative approach questions will be asked. Thanks a lot for your response.

When I saw the schedule of the entire World Cup, the first thing that came to my mind was that there were only three venues to host a tournament as important as the World Cup. That in itself looked a bit weird. This meant a lot of pressure on the pitches too. One ground could have more than one pitch. So, this meant having at least three pitches for the matches in a single venue. That was not good at all. They could have made some more provision for the pitches.
Yes, I completely agree with you. SL wanted to win the cup by hook or crook. The first example was switching of captains and then the doctored pitches. Sri Lankans need some spirit to show seriously.
