No, regretfully we are experiencing a decline in our Church. I went to my Church yesterday and received such a warm and loving response but \i was shocked to see the decline in the number of parishioners who attend and to my surprise there was no Sunday chool for children - but then we have hardlyh any children attending.
A lot depends on the personality of the Priest/Pastor I think. Englidh is not the native tongue of our Priest and he has found it difficult to communicate with parishioners. Plus he is very old school in his service so it is not made attractive to young parishioners. But, Priets may come and go but the Church will stand firm through trila and tribulation.

Yes, we are seeing a revival in our neck of the woods. And even more wonderful we are very involved in our local community. I love that. We stock our community pantry and pretty soon we will close our church down for a weekend and go out into the community and serve wherever we can. Can't wait to see how that goes.

I think that is wonderful that your church is so packed. Do you think it has something to do with the whole 2012 thing? I think it is great that more people are returning to church. I just hope it is out of love for God and not out of fear.

I think that it is very good that there are more people going to your church, but I can say for certain that this is not something that is happening in every church. I know that in my church there are only about 8 people who go on a weekly basis, and I can remember a time when there were over 100 people who would go every Sunday morning. I think that one of the reasons is that people are so busy these days that they want to keep their Sundays off if there is any way that they can do so, so they just don't both with their Sundays at church anymore.

Hey thanks a ton for the discussion. i think its great to see lots of people visiting church and seeking blessings. it is really a good sign that people still have faith on their Almighty and i do not think that religion is on decline in any sense. It was, is and would be perennial and there is no doubt in that.
What say?

That is good news indeed! But I don't know as we are seeing much of it in my area.

Hi urban, I'm very surprised to hear this as all churches in this area are experiencing a decline and some have had to close altogether. I've been told of churches where the entire congregation on any given sunday is less than half of what it was ten years ago and it's unusual to find anyone in the congregation under the age of fifty. I think you will find that religion is on the decline in most of North America. Blessings.

I am in UK, it is not the first time there has been a dramatic revival here. Indeed there have been revivals here so profound they improved crime and conditions in whole communities

I understand that there is a decline in our town. One large church is now a community center but they do still meet in the church hall. Another one has been a theater for a few years. One is all shuttered up and I understand closed and one closed a couple of weeks ago as they could not afford to maintain the building. However the Minster which is the parish church, the largest in the UK, is still busy and is having thousands of pounds spent on the roof and tower. So I guess it is a hard core of people going to church which goes up and down. I am not sure it is a bad thing as long there are enough churches so that the people who need religion can still get to them

Now if you had replaced 'need' with 'achieve' in your final sentence, we might have agreed.
