I actually prefer to read hardcover. It is more durable. Paperback, when I get to a certain pointin the book pages, I have to bend it backwards so it stays open better. But then it leaves a crease on the outside bind. LOL At least if I do that to a hardcover, it will not show. Then there is my pet peeve with paperbacks. I can not stand it when a person will curl or fold back one side of the book around to the back. This ruins the book. When you go to close it, it does not truly close!Hardcover all the way.

If hardback is given for free, I definitely will like it more :D I also read paper back with short stories as I can easily finish it in one sitting. I also prefer paperback if I am on travel as it is lighter to carry. But most of my technical books are hardback since these books do no have paperback version.

I usually only get time to read in the bathtub, so I read paperbacks. I buy them at garage sales for a quarter, if they get trashed, I don't care. If they survive the bath, I sell them at my garage sale for a quarter.

I buy the paperback just because they are usually $10 cheaper.

I think I prefer paperback. They are easier to carry with you on a trip or just around.

Well, I don't know how much it matters. Paperbacks or usually cheaper which is great if you are into purchasing books instead of borrowing from the library.

It doesn't matter that much to me as far as reading the book goes, but I lean more in favor of paperback books. Number one is the price. Number two is paperbacks are easier to take with you for a doctor's appt. or an airline flight. Number three is that I usually give the books away after I read them. Number four is I have no place to put hard cover books if I wanted to keep them.

I prefer to read softback, they are cheaper and are not so heavy!

I prefer a paperback. I always mess up the dust jackets on a hard back, and they can be a bit heavy and uncomfortable to hold.

i prefer hard back books they are easier for me to deal with because of my sight problem i have to be quite close to the book and soft back books get torn much more easily
