While at the gym once in a while I see someone reading while on the treadmill ect. I don't think I could do it read while my body is in motion like that and keep on the right sentence. Are you able to do that or read while doing some sort of physical activity?

I can't read while I'm in motion. x_x I find that I get dizzy and I can't concentrate. I have a high respect for reading which is why I do it with no other distractions. :) But if it works for other people, it's fine as long as they enjy themselves and accomplish what they want to do. :D

I agree. Too many other distractions including trying to keep your body doing what you want it to do. I just picture myself not paying appropriate attention to say my walk/run and getting hurt.

True... and I just can't appreciate what I'm reading when I'm doing anything else. I would probably only think of not falling on my face should I ever do that. @_@

Me too. I can read the closed captioning on the tv's at the gym but a book I think the print is too small for me to be able to follow / focus on while in motion.

I have an exercise bike at home, and one of the things that I really enjoy doing is having a good read while I am cycling. It means that the time passes a lot more quickly and you can often find that a full hour can go by without you even realising it. I also think that people should be making the effort to read more, and if you include the two together then it means that you don't have to worry about making more time for both of the activities. I am quite good at multitasking so it has never been something that is a problem for me.

I do that! When work my abdomem I keep reading Vegan recipes or healthy books, it always have to be books cause I don't have ipad. I wish I had something right in front of my eyes like some glasses so I could read while doing yoga as well.

Yes I can do it and have done it a few times. It takes my mind off what I'm doing so I can spend more time exercising. I don't retain anything I read but I do read the words. It's certainly not the same as curling up with a book. I comprehend what I read when I'm JUST reading. Not so when I'm doing something else too.

Hello, We are working on a product which will make reading easier while running on a treadmill or an elliptical. Below link has a short survey that would help us validate the market need and effectiveness of our new consumer electronics product. It should take only about a minute to complete. Thanks!
Please take a moment to complete this short survey (takes approximately 1 min). The information that you provide will help us determine the market demand for our new product.

I cannot read on the treadmill, but I can on some types of bikes. I move around too much on the tread mill, and do not have a really smooth gait. I also like to swing my arms. I certainly cannot and lift weights. What I have read, somewhere, is that you exercise harder if you are not distracting yourself with a book or TV. In fact, listening to vigorous or lively music causes you to work harder and burn more calories.

yes it makes it less boring if you have a long ride to be able to read on the bus. I forget a lot to bring a book though. I like to read while waiting to be seen at the doctor's office as well.

I can read on a stationary bike, I suspect I could also read on a treadmill, might not even need my glasses to do so!

Yep, I did it all the time. I read all of the Twilight books while running on the treadmill or doing the stair master. It helps pass the time and you almost don't want to stop working out if you get really into the book.

yes I have been able to read while on the threadmill, granted I haven't been running just walkinng at a rather moderate pace. I am sure if I was running on the threadmill I could definately not keep on the correct sentence....
