I wonder which color is the best to wear to attend to a funeral. As there are two common colors and they are black and white. I doubt whether black is much more suitable?

Black not white. I think any dark color is good. You are in respectful moarning so black, grey, charcoal or navy blue should be exceptable Not sure where you would have gotten white from but it is not a moarning color. Black would be very exceptable.

In Asia perhaps white is even much more common.

I'd still prefer white as a sign of peace and purity. And it looks more positive. Much more good for a good aura. Looking a crowd with black outfits looks scary to me.

I think the basic idea is not to look happy at another person's pain. So using colors like red, orange, yellow, pinks, peaches, can signify some happiness as would some shiny shimmering clothing. If you can avoid such clothes, any color should do, though generally dull browns, grays, blacks, and whites are used for such solemn occasion.

We in our family prefers to wear white. Especially in my father's side because we are Chinese. And we are never allowed to wear red... But even in my mom's side, as a Filipino practice, we also do wear white. Though we still see some wearing black.

Black color symbolize the darkness and devil...so black color in any such sensitive events... i do not prefer... rather wear some normal plain coloured clothes and white is also good colour...it has the meaning of light and brightness.. the attributes of god.It is sensitive event but dont be that much extra...you can wear normal clothes which you used to wear as usual. but still the clothes which exposes body part is not good.
