5000 sit-ups 5000 push-ups

Last night, as I was browsing mixed martial arts videos on youtube, I found this guy named Herschel Walker, a former professional football player that became an mma fighter. Then, after doing some research about him, I was amazed about his really unorthodox regimen. In one interview, he said used to do 5000 sit-ups and 5000 push-ups when he was younger but the amazing thing is that upto now he does 3,500 sit-ups and 1,500 push-ups and guess what he's 50 years old! And to make things more amazing, he's a vegetarian but it's obvious that he's naturally gifted with amazing physical strength. It's really amazing that through-out the years, he's been able to maintain he's amazing physique and strength by just doing very basic exercises like push-ups and sit-ups. Hence, I have decided to try his work-out, so earlier this day when I was at the gym, instead of lifting traditional weights, I just did push-ups, sit-ups, squats and some pull-ups. I weigh around 83 kg. or almost 183 lbs., and I have love handles and slabs of fat surrounding my abs, thus, I have a hard time doing those sit-ups and pull-ups lol. Nevertheless, I won't give up, I'll just start slowly until I reach my goal of doing thousands of these exercises daily. Lastly, I plan to buy an exercise mat so that I can do my work-outs wherever I go, without going to the gym anymore.

Hey thanks a ton for your discussion. Great to hear about Herschel and his unique feat and seriously hats off to his professionalism and his undying spirit. It is completely unbelievable that he is able to do so much push ups and sit ups even at this age. It really needs that kind of dedication and firmness to continue with this kind of regime. I think it is nearly impossible to implement such regime in our daily life. Glad to know that he adore and take inspiration from him. What say?

Thanks a ton for your response again. yes very well said, nothing is achieved unless and until u have that passion and aggression to achieve something otherwise it will elude us and would only remain as a dream for us. Having immense faith and confidence on oneself and intensive belief on God will always help u fulfill and realize your dreams no matter how challenging and tough it is. What say?

hi, really,that is really amazing to a person who can do 5000 sit ups and 5000 push ups,because i can only do ten counts of sit ups and i don't know if i can do push ups,and usually i can exercise by kicking to enhance my butt and my legs too.

Yeah it's really amazing, because many people might think that sit ups and push ups are just simple but in fact they're really a good test of your natural strength.

I wish you success in your venture, but how long does it take to do thousands of setup and pushups? Seems like you wouldn't have time for anything else.

Thanks for the response. Well I personally have a hard time doing a hundred push-ups. But it can be done, I'll just need to work really hard :). It would probably take me a few hours lol but of course, I'll take things slowly and as I progress I'll eventually have the strength to do hundreds of push-ups and hopefully a thousand lol. Also, I find sit-ups harder than push-ups, I barely can do 5 repetitions of sit-ups lol.
