A window of opportunity for traveling

Have you ever had a window of opportunity for traveling to a different country. I was able to travel around the world due to having been made redundant and it being impossible to find another job in my home country. I believe a young person if he or she gets a window of opportunity to go off traveling should take it. For me that time of being 20 to 21 years old was a golden opportunity to go off traveling. It is excellent to visit some places in the world traveling around it over a period of many months. My trip lasted for just over one year.
Getting so much time to travel is rare so take the opportunity when it presents itself. I loved my trip and did manage to find work in Australia. I recommend young people getting a working holiday visa like I did. Between two teaching contracts at age 29 years old I went off on a trip to New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. That had been a silver opportunity and I came home from it with hardly any money.
I have to travel even if I have a time with little money. The next year I got a budget flight to Italy and took an overnight bus to Croatia. I was able to explore Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia on that lovely trip. My money was back up the following year so I was able to visit the Seychelles that year.
Which times in life might give an opportunity for traveling?
If you were lucky enough to get that happen where would you like to visit?
Have you ever traveled on a very low budget?

Currently I still haven't gotten yet that opportunity to travel abroad as part of my work. I am looking forward to it (As the good Lord wills). If I do have that chance I would certainly grab that. I always believe that life is just once so make the most out of it, and part of it is to be able to explore places and culture outside your own.
If I have that opportunity I would like to visit europe and the rest of asia. Africa is quite fascinating for me but I don't know about work opportunities or conditions there. In general travelling with the additional opportunity is certainly my interest. Thank you

I would love to travel to Europe, I've never had the opportunity to travel outside of the country but our family has been able to travel within the USA extensively. We been to both coasts, my kids learned to swim in the Gulf of Mexico. I've lived in every time zone the USA has and its given us a chance to see so many people and visit so many places.

I have a bit of time free at the beginning of next year, and I am trying to get the money together at the moment to do a little travelling. I don't think that I can go very far, so I am planning to stay in my own country but I will see some things that I have never been able to see before. I have a lot of family in this country so I will try to stay with them if there is any way that I can do so, so hopefully I will be able to see my family and travel at the same time. This achieves two things at once and therefore saves money in the long term.

In 1999 I couldn't find a job in my own country. I was still young and I was single so I decided to do something different and look for a job in another country. On the internet I read about a home for people with special needs (in Estonia) and I decided to write them and ask if I could get a job there. A few weeks later I received a letter from them and they asked me when I wanted to come. I found a cheap plane ticket and left my own country. I worked there for a while and when my job was over I travelled around in Estonia for a while. Today I wouldn't be able to do the same thing. I am married, I have a good job and my husband and I have bought a house, but at that time I was young and independent and I very happy that I took the chance spent some time in another country.
Some years later I travelled to Italy on a very low budget. I didn't have a job in Italy when I left my own country, but I had a friend who had promised to help me find a job. When I had been in Italy for a couple of weeks I found a job as a personal assistent for a woman. I saved most of my salary and when my job was over I travelled around in Italy. I was also able to visit a couple of other countries in Europe.

WE traveled with my husband on a very low budget when we were young. We were fortunate to have my siblings living in Europe. They lent us camping gear and a VW bug. We went to many countries in Europe and I cooked in the tent and made sandwichs. I could not do that now due to my age and health, but I keep wonderful memories of those days.
