I was diagnosed with TMJ when I was in high school. Of course one of the things that I was doing as a result of having this dysfunction was that I had a strong tendency to grit my teeth or to clench my jaw while I was sleeping. Well, I visited a specialist on TMJ and they fitted me with a bite guard. That allowed my bottom teeth to glide while I was asleep so that my jaws wouldn't kill me. It really did give me a lot of relief and I would recommend it to anyone. It might look a little bit funny, but the relief that it provides is well worth it.

Hi sherlysinguran.
Teeth Grinding (Bruxism) does not usually cause harm to us but if occur regularly it might damage your teeth. I think you should visit you dentist to discuss this matter. The dentist will help you on how to protect you teeth and for sure he/she can give the best advise on who to stop your teeth from grinding when your sleeping.
