Duke Lavery is back....boring!!!

So they have Duke Lavery as Robin's captor. Duke Lavery was Anna Devaines love interest 20 years ago...even in our time! He came to town..forget how/why and he and Anna buddied up. Can't remember if they were married or not...not that it matters...but they were together and then he left or died or whatever it was...then he came back (same actor playing the part) and if memory serves, he turned out to be a double agent for the DBX against the WSB and he defected...and ended up getting killed in a building fire/shoot out. That was the last we heard of Duke. Now he is back. However this guy says...he was the first Duke, but then while his absence...he was in a jail or captivity held there by Julian Jerome (the first mob boss of PC!) He was in solitary and then a new guy was tossed in with him and they became "friends" and started talking about their lives to keep their sanity etc. Then the guy was taken away and Duke didn't hear about him again. THey are telling us that that guy was a plant and while with Duke in prison, he absorbed everything about Duke..and then when he knew everything, the was taken out and made the "Duke" plant to get back at Anna or whatever...they didn't really say why they needed a Duke double. Anyway, that Duke double was the one that died in the fire/shooting thing that Anna remembers as when her Duke died. Now he is telling her it wasn't him and saying things only she would know DDuke would know etc. Okay so fine, a boring character was brought back from the dead...AGAIN. But you know either he is lieing and HE is the double and the real Duke was the one that died that day or something...it has to be something not kosher as if he is the REAL Duke...why did he capture Robin and is keeping her in isolation and letting Anna believe she is dead? Why would the real Duke take Robin? Why would he put Anna through that if he professes to love her so much? Does he think she will stay with him when she finds out that he took Robin..regardless of the reason? So..something is not right, something is up and I can't stand either of those characters so I am not to excited about this new storyline, but what do you think? It will of course, deter Luke and Anna...tossing Luke back to Tracy. Why oh why won't they bring Robert back to stay for awhile!!!???? They plague us with self righteous, holier-than -thou, arrogant Anna over and over again...but they wont'give us hunky Robert and the occassional slim time they do they make him a stupid idiot without the sense of a goose.
