Her check was stolen!

A girl who works for food service at the college I work at had that happen to her! This happen last wednesday. Somehow her check was stolen while she was working scanning people's meal cards! She told our supervisor what happen! The check was $200.00. m,most of use,ark,the supervisior got notice around the kitchen what happen! So we chipped in to raise the money to give to her. Well we did and the girl was very happy! Talk about doing a good deed!

That was nice of you guys. I hope that they still report it stolen and go through the process. Whoever stoled it still needed to be found and prosecuted. What was the $200 for, was it really stolen, what did she do about it? Did the supervisor still advise her to call the authorities?

At this time I have no idea if she reported it stolen or not. I am sure her supervisor told her to report it stolen. maybe she has. If she did I hope this find this jerk and they get prosecuted! Most likely the person who did it has no feelings to speak off.

As it was a pay cheque could it not be stopped or cancelled by the person who signed it? If it's already been paid into a bank, the bank can still reverse the transaction. In the UK, even if a cheque is successfully paid into a fraudulent account, you can generally get your money back - and the person with the bogus account gets arrested. It happened with my daughter - turned out the thief was a bank teller!

I don't know if could of done that. If she could of,she would of had to contact the people in payroll at the college we work at. If the check is cashed and cleared it will come to the bank and then be tracked. i think. Anyway if it was not for us in the kitchen she would be screwed and maybe in the future she should get direct deposit so it won't happen again!

Thanks a ton for sharing the discussion. Oh my goodness i really feel bad for that girl who must have worked very hard to get that check and in return someone took away her check. Glad to hear that u all helped raise money for her and i am sure she must be highly grateful for such a gracious act. I think that person who took away the check is a shameless guy and does not have value for money. I hope he is arrested very soon.

Yes this girl worked hard for her money and it was very nice the kirchen staff,including me, chipped in money to give to her! I hope they catch the preson you stole her check! If they are able to cash it and check clears they can track down where it was cashed,etc! Some people have no heart!

It sucks that people can be quite so low as to resort to stealing someone else's hard-earned money. It is really amazing how some of them can stomach feeding their families with stolen money. But I guess it is what it is. My sympathies still go to that girl who works hard honestly just so she wouldn't have to go without. At least, she's very lucky to have you guys.

Yes this girl was lucky to have us! If she didn't,she would be screwed! I hope they find the person who did this! I am sure this person who stole the check has no heart! It is a good thing she told us what happen and we were able to help her out!

They should be able to discover who stole the check when someone tries to cash it.
