This is for all couples or singles means if you are sleeping alone and door is opened means thieves may be came and if you are sleeping in bedroom(husband and wife) and opened the door means not good for family members. Two days before my sweet and danger husband forget to close the hall door and not lock the gate also. AT midnight my FIL wake up and they saw this. In morning time they call my husband and anger on him how you forget to close the door. Do you not know how thieves are coming in Pulgaon and lots of stolen cases are happening. He said sorry...
Last night I laughed and ask to my hubby you close the bedroom door or opened like hall door he say keep quite I close the door properly. I say okkk dont annoy but please check it every night. My FIL not feeling well so they sleep early. Do you face this danger situation.

sureka, you shared another funny but serious incident here. I think your hubby have lot of tensions, so only he forget to close the door. Already your FIL blamed him a lot, you made a great publicity to this issue by creating a topic here, if your hubby read this, surely he will get more anger with you. My wife is very careful in this sort and always she close the door as well as lock it properly before going to sleep

Ravi, you are right, if we aware about we forget to lock the door, we don't have the ablilty to get the peaceful sleep, but if we are not aware about our mistake, we can sleep well. Good to know that there is no problem with that incident.
sureka, good to know that you can bear your hubby's anger. It will help you to live your life in a good manner without problems

Hi Surekha!
It was good that thieves did not know that there was an open invitation for them on night, otherwise they would have availed the opportunity to enter and steal something ..... Lol!
We usually lock the doors at night and keep asking each other whether the other one has locked the door. We do not want to take any chance and not interested in inviting any burgler in our house (lol).

Hi Deepak!
Those burglars might have this misconceptions that they are allowed to enter your house because it was wide open and not lock. Or I think they would think that someone is still inside or awake that's why they wouldn't get in.
Either way, let's all keep in mind that prevention is a cure. We need to lock our doors.

Hi Surekha,
It's really a very dangerous thing to forget to close the door. My father would be terribly be angry if we do that. And he might even remind us everyday to always lock the door.
There were a time when my sister forget to lock or even close the door. She went for a shopping and I was working...so no one was left here in our house...but the moment I came home...everything was open as if someone is there but as I look around there's no one.
And when my sister came home, I realized that she really forgot to close the door. Good thing there no thieves who visited...or else we will be in great panic.
Happy Mylotting!

Once there was something happen when a stranger get in to our house just because someone forgot to lock the door. Fortunately it just a drunken old lady but it's terrified us all as she just get inside the house and babbled something that we don't understand and then we asked her to get out of the house.

Wow!It was really risky.Incidents of theft are rampant here in our hometown as well.We often come to know about them in the morning. And your husband forgot to close the door. What if a thief entered the house? You were fortunate that no thief came and nothing untoward took place. But now it is your duty to remind him every night to shut the doors properly so that you all may enjoy a sound sleep.

It happened to us few times that everyone forgot to lock the garage doors. In the morning my grandmaa see that and scolds everybody.
But do you khow that in Sani Singnapur nobody closes the main door at night. It stays open all night. In some houses there in no main door even. But that doesn't mean that they are poor. They are quite rich people.
They believe that nobody can dare to steal anything. God always protect them.

They never close the door even I heard no door in their house.
Ohhh God forget the lock of garage and scold everybody means you lost the vehicle or any important thing. Really daily door and window check is must.

Personally making sure the doors are closed and locked is quite important. Even though we live in a cul-de-sac in an area where there is not much traffic, you never really know. But in reality I am a light sleeper most of the time and Pray before I go to sleep and always just knowing God protects me as well.

Thieves would rather come in an open door than knock down one, it would cause too much alarm to the people inside or the neighbors around it. I usually check my doors before going to bed, its a good habit to have. Even if I feel like I'm going to fall asleep I'll still check everything before I go to bed. Don't live in fear, you'll never go anywhere if you do.

Where I live most people are so afraid of thieves that they lock themselves at night. I don`t. I`m more afraid of earthquakes, so I sleep with an unbolted bedroom door to the garden. I have thought of this and discovered that if robbers want to get in, they will.

Of course, it's a good habit to check door and window before sleep. I know my neighbour has been stolen at night even though they has closed the door and locked it. But thieves can enter as well. So i think it's very dangerous to open the door at night. Nowadays the society is not so safe. I remember when i was a kid, society was safer than now. In summer, we just sleep outside without any worry. But now i can't imagine it.

You are right some time robbers stole the things even close the door they check nobody in home and break the lock enter and stole the goods. In my town 4 times in different house this incident happened in day time. whenever the persons goes in marriage ceremony or any other function or in school then robbers completed their cruel job.

We almost never forget to lock the door at night.
We also have a dog who barks when he hears something outside. Our dog lives and sleep in our house.
I can't say nothing was stolen from us. We were victims for theft a couple of times.
All of the theft was from our garden or storage. One time, someone stole some containers of diesel that we had. Some other time, an old friend of my father came to our garage and stole jet engine of our boat. One other time, a thief stole nice lamps that had green light in our garden. The next day the lamps were missing.
The gate was not locked because we don't lock it. we just close it.
I have a wish for some years now that me and my friend will make a night patrol in the neighborhood at nights and stop people and ask them where they go and who they are going to. Strange people hang out at our neighborhood during the day and look into the gardens and see whether something is available for stealing. Bad guys !!!!

hi surekharathi we do not lock our door at night just keep it closed as the caregivers here like to peek in to see if we
are okay. downstairs at night there are at least one person on the desk so someone always check that nobody walks into the building who does not belong here. We residents are supposed to be in the building by 11 pm. So I feel very safe from anyone who might be up to no good. great discussion

Thanks Dadi ma to say good discussion and I feel happy after reading this you feel safe because now everywhere robbers and killers are. I not understand why human being do this cruel type of activity, stole the things, killed the family members for property, kill the spouse for other affair etc. Now I watch the very danger case in news a father raped her daughter ohhh God how cruel. This is beyond the limit of cruelty I feel if I was there really kill the man.

I have a high fence and a gate with a lock. Hopping the fence is possible but getting things out over the fence would be hard. I also lock my outside doors. If some fool tried to get in the house they would have to deal with 2 big dogs. One dog is quite protective of me and her home.
Both would wake me up if anyone even got near the fence. They would not get near the house without me knowing. Shutting my bedroom door is not necessary. It would only keep the dogs from going in and out of the bedroom. Both dogs sleep in the room with me. One sleeps in bed with me.
I also have an alarm. One more layer of protection.

Yes I check doors and windows before I go to sleep... six years ago I woke up to someone robbing my aunts house.. I confronted the robber... Its an experince that will stay with me forever.. I dont know how I would reacted if that ever happened again.. dont think it would be good... Now if I am sleeping in a room that has a door, It has to be shut... I also keep my boys door shut... so if someone opens the door I will know.. and hopefully wake up... currently I am staying with family so its a little different, by once I am in my own place there will be bells on my front door and one on the boys door at night... a little over protective? possibly, its not going to change regardless of what others may think.. The world beyond my front door is full of despert people anything is possible.. I would rather be aware and cautious then simple minded and caught of guard..

i would not feel comfortable to not close or lock the doors and house especially at night even at day time, especially when i am alone, i would try to lock the doors just ensure safety, we never know what's going to happen, nowadays even thieves or bad people, criminals would dare enter a house at day time., what more at night time? that is very dangerous especially in an area we know is not really safe or even if we know it is safe. we must not be too reckless and confident enough that nothing bad is going to happen. regret comes whenever something goes wrong already so if we can prevent it, the we should. we must check and ensure all doors or gates are properly locked and closed.

I also used to forget closing the door while sleepin at night but one day a cat came inside my house and it was little scary for me because it was wild cat.
From that day, I always make sure to check twice if the door is closed or not.
Moreover, married people should be extra cautious in closing the door.
