I recently been relieved from a temp job that my friend offered. The said friend also works at the same place and the owner hired me for a short time. The owner and I parted with good terms at the end of my working period. I was just substituting for someone else. The only thing that bothers me is that my friend who still works at the place wants me to meet her at my former work office. I try to meet here in otehr public places since I feel very awkward in going back to my former workplace without doing any kind of work. I tried dissuading my friend but she keeps insisting that it was fine and okay.

Sometimes people do not easily comprehend another perspective especially when they do not put second or third thoughts and are not particularly mindful of their friend's disposition.
I suppose you are not completely at a lost of being resourceful whereby you can provide another excuse of meeting at your preferred place than your former workplace. You just need to be equally tactful.

I tried and I think it's working. I also pointed out to her that she might not do her work properly when I am there since we tend to talk about other topics that doesn't concern work in that office. I know that she should concentrate her mind on her work and do it so that she could place her attention and purpose to other things. Then, we can talk about things that concern us. It's a win-win situation for everybody.

I know how you feel coz i also don't like to go to my previous work place and in this situation you must avoid it and you should tell your friend about it. If she's your friend she will listen to you.

Well, I hope I could go back there because I had a splendid time working. But I like to work with everyone and in good graces. This was the reason I was trying not to be there after they relieved me. I think that my friend means well but she also has to be professional when it comes to the perceptions of others in the workplace.

Thanks for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand what situation u are going through and must be feeling awkward when your friend must be asking u to come to the former office. But i think u should make things clear in front of her in order to prevent any unavoidable circumstances. She will also know the matter y u are not willing to come to that place.
What say?

It was really awkward and I tried to watch normally around but I am also sure that some of my former co-workers would raise their eyebrows. I mean, they are not expecting me to work there anyone even if it wasn't their position or business. The awkwardness is the reason why I keep putting off meetings in the office I don't want to start a gossip mill and I would also like to spare myself the rumors I think it's not good for an office environment . At least, I somehow convinced my friend that we can meet anywhere but the office.
