Can anyone give me a good layman's description of education?

Unlike GemmaR, I think your question was really about evolution. In the simplest terms evolution is the slow change of living species of all kinds, from bacteria to humans, because of environmental pressures and the ability of some of the members of the species to survive things that kill other members of the species. An example might be that a disease comes along that only a few members of a species are immune to and thus they are the ones that survive and reproduce to keep the species moving on through time. Sometimes an outside agent, like a chemical or radiation or something, will directly affect the DNA of a few, or many, individual members of a species and on rare occasions when this happens, it will make those members stronger or more resistant to some things and a more short term change will occur that causes a leap in the evolution. This has happened in some bacteria which has led to some of the antibiotic resistant strains that are a problem these days.

In a layman terminology education is somethings thats makes a man able to distinguish between good and bad, because there is a thin line between both and only an educated one and an experienced one can distinguish

The only thing that you can possibly say about education is that you are learning something new that you had never been told before. A lot of people think that this is just about facts like you might learn in school for the sake of an exam, but I think that a lot of people tend to forget about the other lessons that you learn that don't have anything to do with school. Every single day of our lives we are learning new things, and if we realise that they we should start to appreciate our life long education a lot more than most people do.

Evolution is a process wherein different species evolve over time. Some species though become extinct while others would continuously change into a different form.
