After I reached the highest mark of 10, this will be the first time I have noticed my user rating went down. From the FAQ, it mentioned that it does go down if one of your posts was deleted. I did a number this past few days and could not recall if one of my posts was deleted. What I am aware of is that I tried to make comments on the answeres that I got from my postings. Some of the answers were identical because I just copied and pasted the answer just to acknowlwdge. Could this be the reason? Can you guys comment?

There is a myriad of possible reasons, maybe even some that we are not aware of. I can understand your concern, but I am sure that you must be aware that the rating is not always an accurate measure of your popularity or quality of participation, so it is not really a serious matter. For all you know the rating could revert to 10 overnight, or at least in a short period of time.
The sensible way to deal with this would be to simply carry on regardless and enjoy your time at Mylot, although I do realise that it is easier to say that when it is someone else's rating.

There is only one thing that causes our reputation (the star) to drop - negative ratings on our posts.

That means you have not logged in for a long time. Probably during that time you would have received more - than +. Now that you make quality disucssions you will get more +.
In fact two years ago when I joined mylot Mysdianait and Hatley aunty were with 9 stars and it took many days for there star to become 10 because they have higher number in bracket?

It also could be happens because of the - rates that have been given to you.
The more you get, the more you will falling down.
Since you already have lot of post, it need couple of - rates to make your rating drop.
Mine is always 7 with white color on it for more then a year.

There should be no penalization for posting double. Errors happen to everyone from time to time due to our connection.
When this happens we should use the (!) button on the duplicate post to ask admin to remove it.

muelitz are you talking about your star and reputations or what? you are confusing things. the number after your user name is your activity ranking and it goes up and down if y ou lose a posto on someones discussion that was deleted or had your own disc ussion deleted. In the guidelines it say do notg copy paste your comments to response s on your discussion and also do not just thank people as we will not pay for this.activity rranking is the number after your user name.your reputation in your star is your rating and is only affect by whether you are plussed or minused a lot. I want to say do not copy paste the same wo rds for each c omment. they must all be different. copy past is only used to save a post should the site b e acting up and wiping out your posts. the number in your star is only affected by how we mylotters rate you more pluses than minuses it goes up more minuses than pluses it goes down.

Thanks for sharing this discussion. Well i feel bad for whatever happened with u and i think may be your identical comments would have caused the downfall of your rating. This is a lesson for u and i hope u never copy paste the same answer while replying back to the responders. Your content may be the same but your lines cannot be identical.
What say?

you have been a member for a longer time -- i saw now -- you are a member for five years. We must start discussions on topics which people may feel comfortable in responding and that will get + for discussions and comments we give. Reputation goes down because people give + , - and none for various responses/replies. Think of some discussion wherein your responses were considered - by others. Even a few responses of ours will do because if more members mark - instead of + that would result in drop of reputation,
I wish your mylot reputation improves when you give quality discussions and responses in the days to come.

hi muelitz no no thats no true your rep inside your stae is not affected because one of your posts was deleted. that is the number after your name your activity rating thats not the same thing. the only thing to bring your ten down is if you have received more minus ratings on your posts by fellow m ylotters than plus ratings. the stars and reps do count in our earnings so its good to stay at 9 or 1 0 if you can. just try a bit harder to make quality work and do not fight with other mylotters. again its your rep that went down not user rating user rating is only the number after your name 1210 right now, that has nothing to do with your star or reputation..do you also rate others as you respond to our posts?.we are all supposed to rate each others posts;if you do this it will help all of us to have higher numbers if we rate positive as much as we can.

I think mylot has the same system as that of my company that it computes your keystroke, so based on it, will depend your salary for the keystroke jobs.
So if you will just copy and paste then, a small keystroke will just be added to your account....maybe it is one of the reason.

Hi Muelitz,
I did not really mind about my star before until someone pointed it out to me. I was just starting out that time when someone congratulated me that even though I only have few post, I then had that blue star (I am talking about my previous account.) Anyways, now, I am missing that blue star still I am contented with that red one since unlike before, I wasn't that active and don't post a lot similar before that I tend to post a lot everyday.
Anyways, your star will go down if someone rated you negatively. There are others who abuse it.
Just keep up the good work and you will have your blue star again.
Happy Mylotting!

Hi Muelitz! I remember when I started several months ago, my first star was 8 and then I went up at nine and then ten. But then, when I started with my training, a requirement in our office, I was not able to participate in the discussions. I remember that my rating went down to 9. But after a day of participating again I noticed it went back to ten again.
Maybe during that times, I have posted something that our friends rated negatively that is why my rating went down. So from that time on, I make it a point it to check what I write before I finally uploaded it.
Have a nice day!
