With a bit of my husbands recommendation I was able to get a job in his company....is an easy job but one which I couldn't disclose with my neighbours or parents...so we never talked about it to our neers and pers but the payout was huge enough thst we were able to save some for our future....

It is indeed a struggle most especially that I am self-employed. I use my skills and whatever I know like doing coaching and tutorials in order to survive. Do you have any special skills or talents? You can use these you know to make extra income. Start making a promotional plan to get started. We need to use our time and all our know-how in order to cope. And, one more thing, once you get started, make sure that you deliver good service so that there will be a repeat or comeback. Quality is the key to any work you do so that there will be sustainability.

I think money is tight for a lot of people right now. It's always a toss up as to whether making more or saving more is more productive, but I usually come down on the side of saving more. There are so many ways to save money that I couldn't begin to list them, but if you don't spend all the money you make, you don't have to worry about making more.
For instance: Make your own laundry detergent, cook from scratch, use coupons when appropriate, turn down the heat and wear sweaters and so on. Most people learn that they can save as much as they can make working a second job.

I could do with getting another job at the moment, but that's not because I don't already have a lot of them At the moment I am working on a couple of jobs, but the only problem is that I could do with at least one of them earning more money for me to give me a little more breathing space with the bills and things like that. The best thing that you can do is to apply for as many jobs as you possibly can as this means that you are much more likely to get an interview, and therefore much more likely to be able to get a job at the end of it.

To be honest, I am not making it at all. I just lost a lot of hours at work, yet working even more. Somehow, this is possible, but it is backwards. I cannot attend school because of the crazy hours, and making little money. Right now, because I don't have any major expenses, if I can figure out how to go to school, using my student loan to live off of, I would rather quit my job and continue with school. Before, picking up a second job, I need a good paying first job. But above all, I need to survive the next couple of semesters of school.

I just wanted to add my little thoughts. What about doing some extra hours every week? Doing a second job is great financially but may not be suitable to organise timing for both jobs. If you still need a second job, you should look out for it actively, just pop in any job centre, compabnies you want to work with. Also aply online to get to the job of your choice.

Actually I am in the same dilemma. I need another way to earn money fast and big. But I have several issues to consider, I am pregnant and I am full time with my current job. My husband works very well but I don't think it it enough since I will be resting a month from now. Aside from myLot is there any other way to earn.
Sorry I wasn't a big help. Life is also tough. Just hang in there.

I have not been able to find a job let alone a second job. I am struggling financially, but I do have my financial aid money to help me get through the rough patch. I have been having back trouble lately and am not able to sit or stand for long periods of time. I know it is the holiday season so you should be able to find a seasonal job to help you out.

Have you tried getting a little extra hours at work perhaps? I myself have tried to cut down a little on things like extra expenses and trying to pay down my loans as quickly as possible(car etc). You are in the US so there are a lot of ways to save such as using coupons, taking some surveys, applying to host house parties etc.

You could try to get a job during Christmas rush, you could also try to earn extra money online too. You won't earn a lot of money online, but you can still earn decent if you put a lot of effort into it.

If you need a 2nd job- might be a good time to look. With holiday season just around the corner many stores and things are hiring extra help. Good luck to you. Hope you find something.
