It can be despicable on those big banks, like Bank of America; Chase and Wellsfargo. Our billion of tax dollars to save them, and they still charge us on checking account. It means that they don't really appreciate your business. With the new partnership of Walmart and American Express, they will have a new bank called BlueBird, where you can bring your cash to deposit in Walmart cash register. The website of this bank wasn't ready for us yet, and it is not FDIC insured. But with American Express, it is hardly fail for the short term. Besides this new bank, you can take your money to Credit Union, or small community bank, they would very much appreciate your business more than those big banks.

I'm not a big fan of Wal-mart. They seem like a pretty evil corporation and I don't think I'd trust them with my money.

The big Banks will admit the individual checking accounts are very costly and they are not set up to deal with such small accounts. You are right that the smaller banks and Credit Unions are a better deal for the consumer.
The idea of Walmart starting a bank is very interesting. It would be much more convenient as I might be able to do business 24/7 with them. I have also heard that they want to set up a medical clinic to do evaluation and routine procedures - vaccines, blood tests, strep testing and basically check you over to see if you need to see a Doctor. You would pay a much lower fee to get a medical opinion.
