Biden V Ryan.

I have just watched the VP debate in the UK. From my point of view, Ryan won it, even though i did not like his anti russian view. I thought that could be disguised a bit better. Do you think the 'JFK' effect has a big part to play in the debate? The coiffured, young and obviously verbally coached Ryan made him seem more desirable rather than the older, less media savvy Biden, no matter what he said. Do you agree? Is this idealistic Scot wrong to pre-judge the US VP debate? Your thoughts.

Alas, the JFK effect does work a lot on people. I didn't see this particular debate, but I have certainly seen debates where one candidate won my vote based on what they actually said, yet the media declared the other person the winner, mostly based on personality and appearances.

and now we have our own 'jfk' in the UK in the persona of David Cameron who, unlike JFK, is totally inept.

Many people seem to think that President Obama has been portrayed as another young JFK. I don't think Rep. Ryan has ever been seen as another JFK.

I agree with the obama conection. last night was the first time i had seen Ryan talking and he came across to me much more media savvy and coached in how to win the audience over than biden did. someones done a good job on him.

OH Boy....living next door to Uncle Sam, I have found it's best I keep my opinions about U.S. politics to myself! Especially 'cuz I live on a small Island that can be sunk...easily!
