November is coming up and many people in my area participate in no shave November. This is an event to raise awareness for prostate cancer or just men's health in general. You start at October 31st and go all month long with out shaving. (Men and women alike.) Does anyone else do this?

I have never heard of this but upon looking it up I find a lot of stuff about it. There are websites - noshavenovember.com, .net, .org., etc. There are numerous videos on youtube. There is a group called Movember, the "mo' being slang for moustache and the last part for November. They grow moustaches to raise awareness for this cause. The .org website says Official Band Website. Could there be a band called No Shave November? It seems to be a very popular movement. I read that no one knows how it started, then I read somewhere else that it started in Australia. And there are other causes it supports. One site says it raises awareness and funds for issues facing local children and families. I think this might be in New York state. And there's a lot more. It's very interesting.

This sounds like a great idea! I can't say that I know anyone who has done this before in my area however. Though I do know that men have gotten their backs waxed in public for prostate cancer awareness before though and women have shaved their heads before but its an interesting slant on things.

I am just very particular in what I eat everyday,to safeguard my health,so that any kinds of cancer can be avoided.I am a very die hard vegetarian, and I always keep on buying lots of fresh fruits to stay healthy and worry free about those cancers.A healthy lifestyle makes you as healthy individual all through out your life.No need to make other crop just to make an event so that others would be inspired to do their things right.

I honestly don't like to shave at all so the idea of me being able to go for an entire month without shaving isn't something that bothers me at all. I have to admit that I won't be doing it to raise awareness of men's health, but I will most likely go through the month of November without shaving. It is great that this is done during November though because it is starting to get cooler in November and thus the lack of shaving for women is something that is not as visible as it would be during the warmer parts of the year.

I have never heard of this even as well and It is something very unique event. We in FIJI have kanikani competition. It is like the people who drink our the traditional drink which is called Kava or Yaqona. So when one drinks it everyday in excess than the skin becomes very scaled like and dry. SO the one with more scales wins..lol I know it is like crazy. But no shave I heard for the first time in my life.. So what about the people who to office and all???????? Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

I saw a guy post about this on facebook. Its supposed to be from what I looked up about it for guys to not shave their face and then when the month is up to compare their beards. I said I would partisipate by not shaving my legs or private area since I quit doing that in early October when the guy I had been seeing for almost 4 years ditched me. It will be an excuse for me to keep men away telling them I am doing no shave November lol.

Haven't heard of this new but I am curious. Anyway, not all people shave so I am sure there will be a lot of supporters to this event.

Wow! It's sounds really unique for an awareness program. But it's really sound interesting. And I'm kinda curious about the looks of the people who participated on it now. :)
