What do you say to your adult child whom you have raise as a Christian when they say to you I need something to believe in. How can you answer that when your own faith is wavering (and they know it) and you're doubting God yourself. Still trying to hang on to the little faith you have left you ask God to give you the words to say and nothing, absolutely nothing comes to mind and all you say (weakly) is I believe in God. And they ask which God, roll over and go to sleep.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. -James 1:8 Confusion/doubt is one of the best weapons of Satan to put down a Christian's faith. I was once before at your situation when I almost gave up my faith to God. All that I can suggest to you now is to set your focus to God. Don't concentrate on the "what if" and "why" questions in your mind. Most of all, pray. All your worries, tell them to Jesus. Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you. -1 Peter 5:7 Prayer is not an extra option nor is it a last resort when all other methods have failed. When man works, man works. But when man prays, God works. Everything (trials, temptations, frustrations, persecutions, etc.) that we Christians encounter day by day, are part of our Christian journey. God has always a reason for allowing things to happen. We may never understand His wisdom, but we simply have to trust His will. Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. -Ephesians 6:10 Since I don't know what makes you lose your faith, I'll not totally base my response upon my experience. However, the best thing you need to do is to let go of your doubts and be free from it. Truth is the ultimate key to freedom (John 8:32). You will not be able to give your child something to believe in if you can't present yourself as an example - an example of a person who have exchanged a self-focused life for a Christ-focused one. A person who is confident not in herself; instead of self-confidence, she radiates with Christ-confidence. God delights to increase the faith of His children. We ought, instead of wanting no trials before victory, no exercise for patience, to be willing to take them from God's hands as a means. Trials, obstacles, difficulties, and sometimes defeats, are the very food of faith. -George Muller Do not be anxious about anything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful and don't let go. God bless!

First of all, I must let you know that I am a free thinker. Yet, I am free from prejudices and biases. I also went to churches and temples before with my friends. The thing is, if you truly believed God or you actually seeks to believe in God. Perhaps you should start by understanding your religion more. If you are one of the Christ followers, you should start by reading the bible from the first page to the last and try to understand the content. Do not only follow what the churches teach but you should try to discover the holy scriptures yourself as people have different ways of perceiving the words of God. No one can guarantee that the churches perceived the word of God correctly. To prove this claim you can go to different churches and you will soon discover differences in practice. If there is only one God and one bible, how can there be such difference? Only God would have known what exactly he tried to tell his children through his bible. What you can do is to get closer to the intended messages and follow the real instruction of God.

I am sorry that you are walking down that long road of Doubt that leads to losing your faith to disbelief.. Too often this road is used, many are able to make a U turn and flash back into faith.. How to make a U turn?? When I am traveling this road I try to find the silver lining within the huge gray dark cload that is hanging over me.. Believe it or not but in every situation there is some kind of positive outcome.. Never said the positive part would make sense, but there is usually something a lot worse that could of happened.. God never gives us more then what we can handle.. It may feel overwhelming; it would just be easier to just give in or give up.. God never sets us up to fail; we are all Gods children and he wants to see us succeed in everything that we attempt to do.. I believe this is how it goes.. Its been a little while since I have read this passage in the bible.. But it says that the way we love our children is how God loves us.. I am not sure what is causing you to lose your faith.. Look at situations with your adult children were things were not the greatest for whatever it may have been.. You stood by your children, helping them when you felt it was the right thing to do.. But stepping back when you felt that your child needed to do accomplish the task on their own.. You may have stepped away but you were within arms reach if needed... Now if you take that thought and change the child to you and God is standing where you were... God never left you just may have taken a step back to let you go forth on your own with him following close behind but not to far to reach out and grab you if you start to fall.. Pray to God and ask for his guidance, and if the problem is too big for you to handle give it to Him.. I know there is still faith within you; or else you wouldnt of wrote about it, asking for help... I will be praying for you and your family.. I hope these words help, God is always there and will continue to be if you want Him to be there.. I hope you are able to make that U-turn towards faith.. Faith is tested often, but faith grows stronger after each battle...

Have some faith in yourself and when you do it see it will be all fun living life to the fullest! God is just an imaginary thing. One can definitely have faith in him if want to but it can't be denied that no matter whether you believe in god or not nothing will seem to ever work out unless you start believing in yourself.

I went to christian school, join christian youth org yet in some point in my life i felt too distant with God. Lately, i hardly go to Sunday church and if i try my mind wasn't in it. I was also struggling on my faith from then however i am trying my best to get back in my youth community to regain my faith. It's kinda hard at first but later on i felt renewed again. My piece of advice, do not stop reaching to God. Do not be contented of being that way. Find a means to look for a church that makes a good homily. It can help a lot. Make friends with people who can bring you in an active church activities, that is very helpful.

Well... I was not really raised Christian. Loosely I suppose. I only ever went to church with my grandparents but I enjoyed those times. I'd look down at this big huge book and try to flip to the pages and then sit there baffled because it was sure like no other book I'd ever seen... Even as a child I think I felt God though. I have never questioned WHAT God. There is only one God. And that is the God of the Holy Bible names including: Jehovah, Adonai (Hebrew) and others and the son is Jesus Christ my Lord and my Savior. What I would suggest you say to your son is to seek God. This one true God of the bible and if he seeks with his whole heart it is true He will be found. I don't know scripture well enough to quote it, meaning, I don't memorize it word for word but I have read it enough to tell you the truth of it and that is generally what I like to do. If your son is truly willing and wanting to know "What" God, he should start and seek the one true God. He will not look further. As for your faith, I don't know the cause of yours... in a general sense I can guess because we all go through hard times that "test" our faith and make us feel sometimes as if we're falling away. We should not let this happen. The bible tells us NOTHING can seperate us from God. We should not allow our own minds to let us think that we are. We are Not! We will never be seperate from God again once we come into the salvation of Jesus Christ. Read the word - Faith comes from hearing. That is all, just hearing. We don't need to make ourselves believe with our own willpower all we have to do is hear the word of God. Things in God are really very simple. We try to make them difficult but they are so, simple. God bless.

Never doubt about God . God is God , our source of life , of everything. He protects us and genuinely love us unconditionally. As a christian we are obligated to praise and preach God. Therefore i am a christian , a big believer of God therefore i wanted my while family to be a believer of God , none should turn to be am atheist. We are born as a christian therefore will die as a christian also. God is good all the time . He is calling and waiting for us everyday. Let us respond to c God's call. Let us give him our time . To God be thy glory.
