Hi, Aman, thanks a lot for this warning! You are really smart and you could avoid the danger. Some of us are not so watchful. A few months ago I fall victim to a fake email because I gave my username and password for my email account! /what a shame really / I didn't pay attention to this scam. But warnings like this remind us that we need to be alert to dangers in this jungle what is the internet! Have a nice time

hi aman First were you ever greeted b y paypal as dear customer? this is one way to tell that its a scam and the wording is really odd too and it is apparent that they are out to steal your identity and take all your money . delete these at once. I got one just like that and I did not do any shopping at all of that size, Its a lead in to make you feel confident then you spill all your vital money numbers and they rip you off.you have to watch for these scammers for sure.

Thank you for sharing. I would send a copy of this email to pay pal so they are aware of it and can warn other customers. It is a scam because pay pal would send a message Dear Kathy Smith (they always refer to their customers by name) instead of dear customer. I always keep track of my money that goes into my pay pal account and if I see any different activity I email pay pal immediately and they investigate and get back to me quickly.

first of all, I want to say congratulations for not going into their trap. if it were me getting it for the first time I would definitely be fooled. as such thing seems really precise. thank you for making this thread. I had no idea that it could be noticed easily by one small, thing that I usually overlook. dear customer is quite common greetings as I usually get offers from online shops. and sure I will follow your advice. I guess I am now should be more aware of it.

I always get the red signal up when I receive emails asking you to confirm an action which you supposedly performed through their program, whether it is paypal or any other 3rd party payment processor. There are a lot of scam artists out there who have no other agenda in mind than to steal your credit card details and suck your finances dry. I had a terrible experience before with a hacker that had access to my paypal account and used up my balance to purchase some stuff online. I was just fortunate to have paypal reverse the transaction and get my money back. But this does not happen all the time. From then on, I take my online transactions seriously and manage my accounts with extreme caution.
