I read an article for Canadian person when talking about the first time he heard about Islam .. What did he say?: "First time I heard about Islam was from the car radio , I was at that time in sixteen years old, where he was Broadcaster talking about Muslims and known saying: The Muslim people who worship the moon and worship their prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him - and worship as well as black rock in the desert Saudi Arabia called (Kaaba), and goes on to talk, describing Islam as teaches terrorism and oppression, and not supports the weak but hardens upon , nor respect the old , not ruthless small, and where women have no rights to it, and does not help the patient nor an orphan, and then claimed the speaker as an expert in Islamic religion and he remained studied by for 19 years. After hearing of this program I thought that Islam is a religion of survival of the fittest and the strong eat the weak. " . I ask the brothers and sisters in MyLot: : Is this really what you think about Islam? Waiting for your opinions .

I definitely believe it is not. Few people's conception and behavior cannot be related to their religion. (If we do, there are people of such kind in all religions.) But, I have to agree that there is a general opinion on that line regarding Islam. I don't know why. Many of my best friends are Muslims.

In the UN speech of Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, he said that Israel is a cancerous tumor that must be eliminated. He talked about the new world order to be ushered by the Mahdi. Ahmadinejad said the revolt of the so-called “Arab spring” (Muslim world) will sweep Asia, Europe, and America. Doesn't his speech clearly means terrorism and oppression?

Zionists occupied land of Palestine .. That is, they now like any occupier .. And what they are doing to the Palestinians and their homes and their farm is not accepted by any human being fair .. For Mahdi he exist in a Sunnah and will appear before the coming of Christ, peace be upon him directly , but he is not Mahdi Ahmadinejad is talking about ..

Which land of Palestine? The land occupied by the Jews I would love to know who Ahmadinejad is talking about. Shiites believe that the Mahdi is one of their imams and hiding in the basement of the hundreds of years ago and came out of it , they waiting for his release, and claims some of the imams they call him . But Mahdi will generate (and may be born already , events indicate to approaching his appearance) .. And when we show signs , we will know that he is the Mahdi The person know he existed for hundreds of years, and it will come out after God has given out , is the Antichrist , he will come out in one of the cities of Iran as I recall.

Unfortunately this is what some people in the west are made to believe. But honestly speaking, they are not to be blamed for this misconception. Some of the Muslims have given Islam a real bad name and keeping in mind the anti Islam sentiments present in some non-Muslim media, such Muslims are being shown as the actual face of Islam. Their media is quick to report anything that goes against Islam and at the other hand fails to report if there is some good news. Even the recent political changes in some Islamic countries like Egypt, have been portrayed as 'take over of Islamic brotherhood who is the supporter of Al-Qaeda'!!.

There is a Power struggle in the Middle East. There are those who will act in any means to obtain total control of the people. What better way than to claim God is on your side. If God is on your side, you can justify anything, right?? I'm afraid God has other ideas. God placed great oil reserves in the middle east because God knows USA greed for the money would have the USA over there. The USA stands for Freedom. The USA wants the power in the hands of the people instead of the tyrants, terrorists and thugs. Yes, USA has greed for oil, however that will keep the monsters from taking over until the people can rise to the challenges of ruling for themselves. The USA never keeps the countries it takes over. Look at IRAQ, Kuwait. When these terrorists, tyrants and thugs fight in the name of God and Islam, they paint a very bad picture for everyone to see. They do not paint the true picture. Case in point are those of Islam on MyLot. They don't seem to be those monsters out there to me. The solution is for those of Islam to stand up and show your true colors. Any time we stand up for Unconditional Love, Truth, and Justice we stand up for God. Let's all show the world what God is all about. Never worry, deep down we all know God does not stand for the Hate and violence we see. Let's judge those we meet as individuals. We can never justify placing everyone into one group. To place all Islam as Tyrants, terrorist and thugs would be a great injustice. We would not want to do that to ourselves. Lots of Love and Kindness, Everyone!!

You must remember Big Money runs the USA. If they find a leader of a country that stabilizes things then keeps oil supplies stable they close a blind eye so they do not have to do anything. It's not justice they fight for but money. It's not right but for now that is the way it is. It is part of the people's responsibility for their governments. Yes, we all have our individual problems even here in the USA. There are lots of issues since people run governments. They do not always do what the country wants. On the other hand, the closer the power is to the average person, the more justice there is. Those countries in the middle east that have acquired freedom for their people will, in time become strong. A free society always becomes stronger economically. China, for example, has come a long way when they started opening their markets to freedom. The trick is for everyone to join together and work things out without violence. Surely, adults should be able to do this without killing each other. The violence, anger and hate just breeds more. At some point, people need to THINK before they act. AS far as I know, the USA supports Egypt's freedom today. It also seems more and more of the middle east is acquiring freedom. Watch as things will start to get better when the average person gets to decide.

bird , If God is on your side, you can justify anything, right? I do not judge by myself as must refer to what God revealed to do it .. Is this not supposed to happen? God placed great oil reserves in the middle east because God knows USA greed for the money The United States only works to their advantage ,and does not believe they want freedom to us as claimed .. Where the United States when he was Mubarak represses its people and thrown them in prison and looted money and leave the poor people so that many people were looking for something to eat in the garbage cans? .. Why did not you do something? Because Mubarak was its arm in the Middle East, and when the revolution happened , has done nothing but when it found that the rebels are determined to implement their demands that Mubarak had become Carte seared for her began demanding him to leave, just as it

No that is not what I know about Islam. Muslims worship God whom they call Allah. They also have the Koran which is equivalent to the Holy Bible of christians. I really disagree on what you heard specially about terrorism and oppression. I'll try to research about Islam too. Hope there is a muslim here in mylot who will explain to us about their belief.

My experience as an American is that in the modern day, many people were really forced to learn about Islam after the Sep. 11 bombings. That's a pretty bad way to be introduced to a religion. In reality there just isn't knowledge in the US of what Islam is as a religion. Most Christians I talk to refuse to even accept the idea of Islam as having anything to do with Christianity. That's bizarre. I had to go out of my way to learn about it; unlike say Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism are more in line with what I have experienced Americans have a general knowledge about. For example, Mormonism isn't all that well understood (though it is viewed as being related to Christianity), and we have a Mormon running for president. :)

Everyone will have their own point of view and this commentator is no different. Along with a certain number of people, I don't think his view is anything to be taken with any animosity even when there's any misconception but with a pinch of salt. Muslims should be motivated to convince people like him with an exemplary life of love, patience, understanding and tolerance which is so absent today. The radicals or extremists may be the ones to blame, but if the head of the Muslim family does not lift a finger to chastise their errant own then such misunderstanding will simply continue.

No, that's not what I think Islam is; and I feel sorry for the wrongly-led sheep who think that's what it is. I know that Islam is--plain-&-simple--'total submission (to G-d).' Extreme followers (Christian, Jew AND Muslim) naturally want to see the world exactly as ideal as they would want it if they created it themselves, and support extreme measures to bring about that reality. Buddhists (within & outside those three religions) take 'the middle way'---not supporting the extremists but not necessarily rising-up against them either.

I don't have knowledge about the religion called Islam. If what the terrorists say or do is according to the teachings of Islam, then I would like to abhor it.I am a Hindu from India. My country has been a target of Islamic terror. There is a slogan in our country,'All Muslims are not terrorists, but how is it that all terrorists are Muslims?'I don't know what Islam says or teaches. What I know is what these terrorists do and want.I don't know I am right or wrong, but I have reached the conclusion that Islam is politics, not a religion.

Islam is all about: Politics and Economy ...Etc. .. If I read the Quran, you will find that the Constitution of a comprehensive life (and the Sunnah) it shows us how to behave when the dispute between us and how help the other , how we deal with our neighbors and with God's creatures (human and animal) .., how to solve the couple their problems and how to handle the couple together .. Etc.
