What Do You Think of the Idea that the Beast/Antichrist Is the Internet?

Of course, maybe people were thinking this about the telegraph-system, the telephone-system AND the television-system. And it's easy to see how each one is built upon the 'friend'-system (the system that propelled Jesus to Christhood), but how each is not quite as "good" as Christ. But anyway, what do you think? What should Christians do if the Internet IS the Antichrist?

The Antichrist will rise as a person, not as a technology. Since I don't think that the Internet is the Antichrist, I have no thoughts and I'm not going to make thoughts of it.

If the AntiChrist is a person, it'll be the person at the head of a whole organization which some say is itself the AntiChrist. (Some say the AntiChrist is the Roman Catholic Church, but it'll be the Pope who takes the name 'AntiChrist.')

The conspiracy of the Pope being the Antichrist is well explained in Alberto Rivera's testimony (Alberto Series), published by Jack T. Chick. Since many influential considers Alberto to be a fraud, Jack published the book "Is Alberto for Real?" One interesting news. The Vatican's telescope in Arizona was named L.U.C.I.F.E.R.(Large Binocular Telescope Near-Infrared Utility with Camera and Integral Field Unit for Extragalactic Research). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1Al7xaEkAg They say that it's perfectly a normal name. Never heard of `im, Never heard of `im; and 1) Lucifer was never an evil name & 2) whoever named it that is REALLY stretching to reach that acronym! The name's true-sense is actually "Bringer of Light," so Lucifer's a good guy. (He just got it into his head that he could take the place of God since he did so much enlightening work, but we all see that that was a mistake, right? ... I say, giving all glory to God ...)

I think that the antichrist is any individual that is against Christ or teaches things that are not true about Jesus Christ. The internet is not a person and can be used to spread the truth about Christ or untruths about him. It is neither good nor bad but can be a tool of those for Christ and those who are antichrist.

So then the Internet is The Beast, whose mark you take when your wrist gets carpal-tunnel from typing so much on your mobile-device?

I don't think the internet is the anti-Christ but, as with anything, it could be a tool. BUT it can be a tool for the alternative too. Many people use the internet to spread their beliefs and a real anti-Christ would have to get on the bus too.

The internet is not the AntiChrist anyone who is against Jesus is an antichrist. The one is Revelation is definitely a political figure. He's probably alive today and he hasn't done anything yet.

Of course not, Mythociate, and I'm sure that you don't like this idea too. And many Christians don't care about it. We see that the Vatican itself make use of the Internet not to speak about the TV. Some people always search for the Evil. But the Evil and the Good are not out there, they are inside us.

I do not think that an "object" would be the beast, I do think that the beast is a person. like others here said, we have a lot of things that can be used for good or for evil, it is just the own choice. thank you.

'The Beast' is only a person if you're one of those ASPCA cry-babies. The Beast will be something more like the AntiChrist's way of getting his anti-Word out there ... I say, giving glory to God and his Son whom he sent to earth to die in our stead.
