Tonight my teenage daughter asked me to come watch a tv show with her on the History Channel.I like the History Channel. I think it is very educational and informative. These two men drive all over the country looking for historical items they can but and resell on a website they have. The show is called "American Pickers" and it is a very good show.I saw stuff on that show that I have never seen before and could not imagine it would be worth that amount of money. They tell the history of the items as well. Have you seen this show? What did you think?

Hello dofollin. I have watched "The American Pickers" off and on. It is interesting to learn about the things they buy. There is another one program called Abandoned The host or business man goes into abandoned building and makes deals with the owners for items he thinks he can fix and resell. I also like to watch the travel channel when they have the "Mysteries at the Museum". Don Wildman is the host and he takes you into the hidden places in museums across the country. He shows things that are not necessarily on display. http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-shows/mysteries-at-the-museum/articles/mysteries-at-the-museum The travel channel has several interesting programs. as does the national geographic, Right now I'm watching "Great Barrier reef" on "Animal planet" I also like the Science ,Military, BBC and History 2 and the food channel.

These "American Pickers" are smart people. They use the effort and knowledge to make money in a very interesting way. I have not watch this program but will put it in my attention once I got the opportunity. Thank you so much for sharing this with us here at myLot. It will be a great quality time together watching this with the family, an educational one too

Your welcome. And yes they are smart people, they were buying things for $100 and I'm thinking I wouldn't give them a plug nickle for that. Then it turns out it is worth $200!

I've heard of this show and it made me think that maybe the junk that I had in my store room may be worth something. The things I see these men brought back are truly junk and I would have just thrown them away but apparently one man's junk is another man's goldmine.

On yesterday's show this man and his mother has 3 building of old stuff the the man and his late father had collected. One of the things was this old clock that he bought from them for $400.When he got back to one of their consultants he found out it was worth $800! He had made a $400 profit!

I am not sure if you are referring to "The Pickers" ? Sorry i had to ask because lately there have been US or UK versions of shows. If yes, then yes I have watched it. I also like it as it shows how many people are very sentimental on the things that they have. Sometimes there are teary eyed people who doesnt want to part with their "trash" because it means something to them or reminds then of something.

I saw the show awhile ago and I liked it a little bit, but I have not watched it in months. I understand what you mean about how something can be worth so much money when it does not even look valuable. I mean, sometimes you can tell when something is going to command a high price, but sometimes you can't tell at all.

Hi friend, good to hear about this show. I am surprised to hear that your teen age daughter is watching such kind of shows, most of the teenage persons are not interested in watching historical shows, your daughter is very different in this sort. I am interested in watching this show, as you mentioned they are showing a lot of good things as well as we know various information about history
