New Trigun movie, Badlands Rumble, should we just leave old anime alone?

Has anyone heard about the new release of this movie? Trigun was released in 1998 however is it too late to try to resurrect the popularity of this anime after such a long break? Or will nostalgic fans be eager to watch it after all this time do you think? I have mixed feelings about it, I have to say that I am intrigued but I won,t be going out of my way in case it doesn't live up to the original, I know that it is a movie so it is different but the original was hand drawn for instance and had so much depth and heart to it, I would hate for them to make a spin off just for it to be weaker and not as good plot wise. What does everyone else think?

I loved this movie, sure the art style is different now that animation has gotten better but I enjoyed this movie a lot, sepecially since they got Johnny Bosch to play Vash again.

That is pretty cool I do enjoy sequels or spinoffs better when they attempt to maintain continuity with their voice actors.

It's been a while since I heard about Trigun. I loved the anime and I don't-know how to approach its movie counterpart. However, I agree with you that many fans will want the movies a sort of a continue series from the original. As a fan I loved the original and I had my own impression of it. I would sad that my love for a series will be somewhat ruined due to a movie that didn't live up to what I first love. However, we don't know how the movie people will treat the series. It has been a while. But surely, they will try to please the fans. No fans, no support and no revenue for them. It's becoming a trend that a movie deviants away from the original and expected but you (actually me) wants a sense of familiarity and closure. I would want to see the reason why I fell in love whit the series in the first place.. and those people have the power to make me love or hate the series. Perhaps, it is better that some some aeries are left alone in their glory.

Speaking of remakes and re-releases or do overs in anime I wasn't totally taken by the new evangelion rebuilds either though I was happy that Tiffany Grant and Matt Greenfield came to Ireland and I got to have stuff signed in the hubub of it all. Though they were decent and pretty stand alone movies I do not know if they contributed anything to my original experience of watching the original series or reading the manga. It almost seemed like a little bit of a diluted version to make it more palatable for a greater market. Though in saying that Trigun wasn't nearly as controversial so it may do OK and hopefully not disappoint though it seems that remakes are becoming very popular in hollywood at the moment so maybe they are marketing to their American fans in doing so.
