Well problem is that my Boss hired me as an accountant and this is what i'm doing. My job is to stop any kind of fraud which any one tries to do. We are total of five person in office. Now i try my level best to prevent any kind of fraud and i'm doing this very well. Problem is all the others are friends and they don't like me coz i don't allow them to do any false activity. They all abuse me in different words and they don't even listen to me when i say to them that you are doing wrong. So I tell every thing to my Boss but the problem is he is not as intelligent as these thief (office persons) are, they satisfy him so how and my hard work end in nothing. In result the office atmosphere is very bad i feel lonely no one talks to me. I don't know what to do, can't quite this job coz it pays well and i have tried to go to any other job but those jobs pay very less. So i am really very upset. don't know what to do. Should i leave this job or should i go with the wind and pass my time as it goes.

What is this called? Office politics? I thought accountant, business manager, and other designation do not experience much incidents like this, I was a secretary in the past, all the boss are hard to handle, but I quit at last. In my opinion, if you think you can settle this on your own, you are wrong. Find a day which you can talk to your boss about the workmates behaviour, no matter how hard you must do it, in order to give your full responsibility to the job. I believe they, your workmates once realize they are wrong will apologize to you. Cheer up.

Getting a new job is really difficult. just now i responded for a member from pakistan--he says unemployment is high. it must be same in your country also. As long as there is no threat to morality or other abuse one can continue in the same job and try to do the best, find an alternate job and then resign.

If you really feel unhappy all the time and you had try you best to improve this situation but the result is the same,so I think you should quit this job,I think there must be some kinds of job that have the same pay with your current one,but find a better job need sometimes so I think you can work at your current job meanwhile try to look for other better good opportunity.

Just know that you can't please everybody. So, as long as you are doing your job right and you know in your heart that you are at the right place all the time, you should not feel bad about it. If people don't like you for being the honest guy then you are definitely better off without them, because being with them would definitely bring you down someday, as an employee and as a person. Also consider that getting a good job, or any job at all, is difficult, especially now, so you really have to have better options before actually considering to quit. However, I also believe that when you are truly not happy with something it is best to get out of there, so here is the conflict. The solution that I can think of is to try to look for and make new friends, those that you believe are good in your office or workplace. Having a friend around could definitely lighten up your work or mood. Anyway, I really hope you solve this problem soon and wish you good luck on your endeavors!

I think you just do the right thing You don't have to expect that everybody agrees with you. As long as you know you are right, that's all. And it is good for an accountant not to do any kinds of fraud. They just don't understand why you do so. At least you avoid doing the crimes and it is good for yourself. I think it is easier to find an another accountant job because this job is like a doctor, working experience is the most important. And you will be qualified with it as time goes by.

It is the matter between high salary and being happy at work.....what d you think is the most important things for you now? For as long as you can do your work well, do not be intimidated by what others tell you. If in the long run you would feel not being treated right or equally, you can always report to the Labor Department and report the office you are working at.

Hi, It is hard to be right when everyone else is doing wrong. I was once in that situation before but I keep on to my basic principle of not going with the bad current. Believe me, doing right pays off in the long run and you shall be rewarded with all your troubles, more than you suffered for.

simplealvi This is a practical life situation. You have to manage tactfully. As an auditor your job is to find the faults and report. Are you empowered to advise people? normally auditors do not advise people but find out issues and report. if the other employees are friendly you can give suggestions/advice. your boss is an intelligent man--in order to reduce his tension he has delegated the work--you feel important at the same time not all important. you have to get along with people also. Do your duty and leave the rest to God. I know you feel bad that your views are not given importance. still you should not leave the job for this--try to find another suitable job and then resign. without job you will feel like blaming yourself and even .... think. you are from which country?

I can understand how you feel now. But let me tell you this truth. Respect is a thing we all need to gain and we cannot get it by force. You must learn how to deal with them professionally. Put everything into writing or black and white. Be friendly and try to understand their side but of course do not tolerate their behavior nor be involve in their malicious acts. Just do your job and explain everything to your boss tactfully both verbal and in writing. That is very important in an office if you want to succeed. Learn how to use your most powerful weapon. It's not your job to please them and expect resistance from them since you are new to the company. If you have something to instruct or correct, do everything into writing or email and require them to respond. That way, you have your own records of communication. Let their cleverness in doing fraudulent acts be a big challenge for you. I became in this situation for many times and I gained the respect my boss and even the once stubborn people under me. I work hard to gain their respect. Just believe in yourself and do not let yourself be intimidated by their wrong acts.

I would keep looking to find another job that pay better or the same of what you have and that you are not as many in the office,I understand it will be a bit of a work out to do but, I do understand when the atmosphere where you work is bad it can be very hard to enjoy your work. Good luck.

Well better leave of that job if you can't really take it anymore. Besides, don't push yourself on continuing to do the things that makes you really sick. :)

I wouldn't advise you to quit that job especially if it pays well and you know that you will have a hard time finding a new one right a way. Continue to do the job that you were hired to do. Talk to your boss about the situation and hopefully there will be changes.

I think you'd better to figure out what you want from a job and what your responsibilities with this job. If you just want to get paid well, never mind any unpleasure now that this job paid highly, if you really persue your career and you have your career plans, you should underestimate that if you are going forward to your career targets.
