I am very much particular about taking care of my skin. I used to be a model of a skin care clinic here in our place. I used to have regular facials and other skin care regimen on my skin for free. But now that I am no longer in the job, I still see to it that I continue my skin care routines because most of the time, our face is our own capital, may it be for jobs or other opportunities that may come our way. The products that I use daily are: 1. Baking Powder Every other day, I wash my face with baking powder. Mixed with a milkbath cream, I rub baking soda on my face gently. Since baking soda is coarse in texture, it has a microdermabrasion effect on my skin, taking away impurities and lightening blemish marks. After washing, I rinse my face with cool water. My skin feels smooth and clean after this routine. 2. Kojic Acid Soap My regular bath and facial soap is that which contains Kojic Acid, a natural acid derived from rice- a product of Japan. I apply it all over my skin and leave it there for 3 minutes, giving it time to do its lightening and smoothening job. It usually has a stinging sensation during the first few uses, but this eventually goes away. Kojic acid makes your skin very dry with regular use, so I make sure I put on a good moisturizer right after. 3. Moisturizer My skin is not really dry but since I am a regular Kojic acid user, I still see to it to moisturize. It helps hydrate my skin and prevent wrinkles. Also, it aids in softening your skin. 4. Petroleum Jelly This may sound strange, but yes, I use petroleum jelly on my skin right before I sleep. After my nightly facial/body scrub, right before bedtime, I apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly on my skin to do its work overnight. Petroleum jelly helps to trap and maintain moisture on your skin longer. It has healing properties on skin burns and minor abrasions, bringing back that supple skin that you naturally should have. In the morning after waking up, you feel like your skin is so supple and soft. just make sure to unclog your pores by having a good facial wash in the morning. 5. Cetaphil When at work or just being out of town, I bring with me a bottle of Cetaphil. it is a non-comedogenic product used for skin cleansing. You have to be always prepared for the dusty, polluted places that you are going to. So, after hours of dirt exposure, I rush to the restroom, put on Cetaphil on my face and wipe it away with a soft tissue after. It cleanses your face even if you don't really rinse it with water during that busy time. It's better to be always ready, right? 6. Sunscreen/Sunblock There is not a day that I don't put on sunscreen on my skin. Living here in the tropics, the sun is harsh on skin. It makes the skin dry, rough and darkened. So, having sunblocks is a need if you are conscious about skin health. This is very necessary especially if you are always out in the sun. Be sure to choose a non-greasy and matte finish sunblock on your face so you won't look like a walking frying pan. 7. Water, Water, Water This should never be absent in your list because our skin needs constant hydration. I see to it that I always drink water 8 glasses a day, and sometimes, more, depending on my activities. Water hydrates the skin and helps excrete unwanted toxins from the body which will improve overall health and feeling of well-being. Always bring with you a tumbler if it's what's convenient for you. Water up!!! These things are just simple and easy to avail but I assure you, these products help me a lot in maintaining my skin health. Our skin, being the largest organ and the front line of our body, deserves care and utmost health consideration. It is our protection, our asset, our treasure. Take good care of your skin guys!

Thanks for the skin care tips. I am going to try some of them for sure. About the only thing I use regularly is goats milk soap. It is not harsh and is made by a local woman and she doesn't use anything that is not natural. I am horrible about moisturizing though. I can't wait to try some of your tips. Thanks again.

That's very good info. Thanks for sharing on how you take good care of your skin. I stick to a particular product and that If I share then I have to make a list too.For me, I wash my face with fresh milk every morning and before bed a daily tonic and a moisturizer is just fine.I use cleansing milk to wash my face when when I came from a polluted places. I don't usually use soap into my face as it cause dryness. So, after daily cleansing I used mask to rehydrate my skin.A 5.5ph balance moisturizer will be my choose in moisturizers. In short, a cleansing milk, splashing my face with milk, a daily tonic, a mask and a moisturizer is my daily skin care regimen. Happy mylotting!
