Do You Believe in Karma?

Philippines

We all know that the idea of Karma deals with morality. It simply says that whatever you do, good or bad, will back to you. But until now, there still a debate regarding this matter. Others say there is really Karma. But others don't! Because they say that it's not biblical... :) What do you think?

I do believe in Karma. I think it is just a payment of your deeds that you shown to others. It is either good or bad. If you done something wrong that degrades or underestimate others karma will come after you or if not for you it is either for your closest family member or worse your children. So for me always make sure that you always think first before you act.

I have the tendency to pick what is good and fair in any religion, be it an abstract or concrete. Yes I do believe in karma. If I think or do bad, I have to compensate for it. None is or will be the enemy of us. If there is any enemy of mine around me, its surely due to my bad thinking or doing, be it a misbehavior or irresponsibility or arrogance or misdeeds. But transmission of the effect of karma from life to life is a bit confusing to me. But I honour it. I think peace exists in believing.

Regardless of how we call it, I do agree that it does happen. Scientist say that for every action there is always and opposite equal reaction. In life things happen and for everything you do, there is always that effect. It may not happen right away but it will surely happen. So the bottom line is, we should always think before deciding what to do otherwise we may end up suffering for the things we should have not done.

Actually, it's about-half Biblical. That is, Jesus said to 'do unto others as you'd have them do unto you' (His actual 'commandment' was "Love your neighbor as yourself," but if He didn't "say" 'do unto others ...' then at least that's the best way to obey the 'commandment'). Sure, that doesn't say 'the good things you do will come back to you' (not more than saying 'you're laying-up treasures in Heaven'), but it's the best way to encourage everyone-who-sees-you to treat you right.

I am a very strong believer in karma, it's something that I cling onto and it helps me survive, reason being is because people have done some nasty things to me, bullied me, abuse etc, I console myself that they will get their retribution, maybe not today, or tomorrow, but I know karma will catch up with them and punish them for the way they have treated me. It's on the same lines to me as what you reap you sow, if you are nasty to others then karma will come back at you! Give out good karma and you will receive good karma.

I'm a big believer in karma and try to do the right by people whenever I can. When teaching my boys about religion, I always talk about Karma and what it means in other religions. I also stress how important it is to be kind to others so that good things will come to them. Also, it just feels better to do the right thing in life. That is what I believe karma to be ;-)

What comes around, goes around.... Yup! I do believe in Karma to some extent. But when you think of other incidents like example a husband who had an extra marital affair, when the wife finds out about it, sometimes the wife would do the same thing just to spite her husband.

The Biblical phrase is, "You reap what you saw". An atheist's perspective would be "what goes around comes around" or "you get back what you give away." Still, others say "karma!" However anyone phrases it, based on whatever beliefs, I think the concept remains the same. It does happen.

Yes, I do believe in Karma. I look at is as being more comon sense than most will believe. It is similar to the concept I was told as a child. God does not like ugly, meaning for every bad thing you do to another person, it will come back to you, and retribution is usually instantaneous.

I believe in Karma. Just as I believe that everything happens for a reason. What that reason is, we don't always know right away, but I believe that life is entertwined, in one way or another. Perhaps not in the truest sense, this is not biblical, but if it was not meant to happen, a higher power would not allow it. I have often heard growing up that "God doesnt like Ugly" for those of you that don't understand, the concept is similar to Karma. If you do bad to someone, you will be repaid in kind, and retribution is usually instant.

The concept of Karma is one that only could be approved of b an evil deity/ I am, at least in part, the product of my experience, any supposed self did not share that experience is in no real sense me. That I should be punished or rewarded for the action taken by someone who in no meaningful sense of the word is me is the height of injustice. all the best urban

I believe it does exist.....yup....what goes around comes around....good or bad. It might take a while but eventually it returns....in one form or another. I don't think it has anything to do with being biblical....

Yes, I do believe in karma and people getting their just rewards for the good and the bad things they have done. My friend even have a scientific explanation for this, I really can't go to his exaact words, but it goes something like the way how you treat people will come back to you one way or another because that person is not going to be that helpless forever. One way or another, he or she will be able to break from his/her situation and since it is a small world, you or your loved ones will be bound to cross paths with that particular person and the chances of the stituation being reversed is a staggering 50%.

It does exist, but it is all a matter of how much of it exists in any given situation. Some cases have alot, where others have close to none. That makes room for a constant two way argument. I don't deny it, but I don't fully support it either.
