I am not a big fan of squash! One reason is my mom didn't make it very good! Some relatives can't either! I know acorn squash is the must cooked squash but if a person doesn't know how to cook it right,I won't be eating it!

i enjoy eating squash when cooked as vegetable. here in our country there are many ways of cooking squash either mixed with meat or other vegetables or as a dessert but i prefer it prepared as veggie.

Squash here is mostly fixed as a vegetable and made into soup at times. I usually eat it only during the holidays. I have tried to like it but the more I think, the more I know I don't like squash and never will!

I agreed. Never cared for squash either. The texture of it made me gage. I find if I take the acorn squash, cut it in two and put butter and brown sugar in it and bake it it is pretty good. I would try it this way and see how you like it. If it isn't going to work for you then it just isn't.

Maybe I just don't like squash! The more I read and answer to this discussion the more I realize I am trying to like squash but really don't! That makes more sense why I don't like the way it is fixed by anyone!

Maybe you don't like squash for sure. I sure don't. I can't remember the last time I had any. Several years back. I keep thinking I will try it one more time and it gages me every time.

Hello blue. Squash isn't really hard to cook. I have eaten a lot of acorn squash. A lot of people like to add brown sugar and butter to theirs but I like mine baked and just add butter and salt and pepper. We have a big yellow summer squash and a butternut squash waiting to be baked. Most winter squash is very hard to cut do what i do is bake it then remove the seeds after it is softened. I have found that it is a lot easier this way.

Well blue I don'yt knwwhat to say. Some time you come across foods that you once liked but then in later years you don't like the same food. Squash is good for you but there are other foods just as good for you so why push it. If you don't like it you can't force your self to like it and I wouldn't try unless it is to get a child to eat it.

The way people are discribing the way the way squash is fixed,it doesn't seem the way my mom made it! She was not a good cook alot of times! She could bake, though! I am wondering if I just am trying to like squash when I just hate it? something to look into some more!

Not sure if my mom cooked it or baked it. Same with other family memebers! I only eat it doing the holidays because that is the only time it seems to be made. I have thinking that maybe I really dislike squash and am trying to much to like it! Need to do more research on this!

I never have had marshmellows on squash! Never heard of it before! I do know here we put marshmellows on sweet potatoes. Sure don't like sweet potatoes! I not sure how my family makes squash but for some reason it is not right!

I love squash, which is surprising because when I was younger I wasn't so fond of it. My Dad would fry everything in a ton of butter. I love acorn squash baked in cinnamon and I really like fresh/raw squash. My favorite way to eat zucchini squash is in bread. It's the best. I'm happy my taste buds have changed since I was younger. People are different and like their food cooked different, I think a lot just depends on what a person likes rather than how it is cooked.

When I was little, I don't care for my mom's squash either. For me it's got a funny color. Now that I am older, I realized that my mom's way of cooking squash is actually good. Too bad, because I am not living with my parents anymore.

I never watched my mom fix the squash when I was growing up. Whatever she did it was not the right way! Whatever the other memebers do with squash when they make it,I don't! I should look into it because it seems I either just hate squash or no one can cook it right!
