Hi Mylotters;
On TV I have been seen over the past several years talk shows that are soley about who is the father of that child.. Before I really get into the meat of the discussion here is a little back ground.. I do not nor will I ever meet my dad, and I knew who the father was of my children before they were born.. I will be talking about the males and females; I am not going to bash just one side...
Horray your Pregnant its suppose to be the happiest time in your lives right? Nowadays wrong.. There is a lot of affairs going on outside the relationship.. marrage is the best.. anyhow different topic..
The mothers: Ok I can understand If you had one or two opps.. So you do not know who the father is.. So you go on one of the shows and find out.. There are a couple mothers that have had dozens of men on a show do the testing and find out the child isnt theirs... the mothers are clearly upset storming of the stage crying... and another show comes.. why sit there and appear in three or four shows to find out who the father is.. I mean is it that common to cheat now.. Or is the mother thinking that the child that looks like the best match is a dead beat?? Get over it.. you made the bed you were sleeping in.. This child and this father has a right to know...
The possibile fathers; First off if you slept with this woman, there is a possiblity!! If this woman was sleeping around so much or what ever.. Why did you decide to have some too?? Its simple..
To all parties including friends family and who ever else that wants to be on tv... save all the ranting and bs for after the test results have been read... YOUR CHILD CAN SEE THE TAPING OF THE SHOW IN THE FUTURE!! HOW ARE YOU GOING TO EXPLAIN YOUR WORDS OF ANGER POINTED TO THE OTHER PARENT TO YOUR CHILD?? I know the moment I found out I would be embarassed, and extremely upset for my parents acting a fool on tv... If you dont want this drama at all be FAITHFUL TO ONE ANOTHER DONT CHEAT!! Some times the simpliest things can be considered too hard or difficult to take in.. crazy stupid drama!!! i do not watch it, just flip the channel.. theres too much of it!!

It's amazing how many watch these types of shows! I knew who the daddy was to my children. I knew when and where they were conceived. I would be so embarrassed to air my personal laundry on t.v. but I guess some people will do anything to get fame for 5-10 minutes!

I totally agree with you.. I wouldnt want the whole world to hear something like that.. It is crazy how people have to do dumb stuff just to hit the spotlight.. like those movies or tv shows jacka## thats wrong, and isnt funny by any means..

My best guess would be the "soap opera" effect.. Meaning even if for one hour the person can be focusing on someone elses problem versus their own.. Even if the story is not a true one; its still a distraction..

Exactly! I've also heard thought that on some of those shows that they aren't real people they are actors. That they make this stuff up and people really like it! I don't know why?

The producers of these shows are a brilliant example of the case for retrospective abortion. All reality shows, as far as I'm concerned. But I'd like to save a final salvo for the fools who (this is true) produced a show which followed a group of New Zealand fisheries officers on their rounds .... absolutely riveting lol.

I agree the producers were geniuses when they came up with the idea.. DNA testing is expensive!! I had to get DNA testing done 6 months ago.. I knew my hubby was the father and he didnt question it either.. It was for legal purposes; after he pasted away... The producers have it made; there will always be people that need the DNA testing done.. And there is usually a juicy story that goes along with the testing.. I just feel bad for the little children and babies that are right smack dab in the middle of it..

Actually, I think you have misread my reply. I didn't say the producers were brilliant, in fact what I said was the absolute opposite. I think they should have been put down at birth.

I don't watch those kind of shows, I don't understand the need to be in the television and exposed all of the things they did or are doing. But people do watch them because they are somewhat intrigued about the kind of life they have. But you are so right! their future children can watch these someday and they won't like it.

One of my good friends made a comment tonight; she told me that she was soo suprised in how I am always putting my boys first.. I always have something to say or do for them.. I believe when you have children they should and always be your number one priority; it wasnt the childs fault that they were born.. They didnt ask or anything like that.. Its just sad that there are some parents out there dont put their children first.. and believe it is right..

It is solely about the drama of the TV show. To get people to watch it, they need to feed the drama of something. This is what they chose for these types of shows. After doing a test market on this type of drama on TV seems we the people like watching it. Other wise that first show of this kind would of ended it then. Yet, we have it going on another year after year. One show has actually moved from one part of the US to the East side of the US with a new studio just for the show.
Sad but real, there are enough people watching these shows to keep them making enough money to keep them making more.

I have to disagree on one part of this...
That when the money runs out all there is left is broken hearts and failures..
I see way to many that after the money was gone, finally got up and worked on the failures and the hearts to become even stronger than they were. Enabling them to succeed even the smallest of successes they are able to see and realize to grow from them.
It is sad that there are people out there that make money on those times of our failures.. that was my point.

Money is a motive for many dishearting or outragous acts... People still do not get that there are other things in life that are either just as important or more important than money.. Money can not buy all things in life.. When the money runs out what is left? Lots of broken hearts and failure remains...

I haven't seen such kind of DNA testing show here in my country but I've seen before a foreign tv show of Cheaters. It's a caught-in-the-act real drama. There's this group who assists the victim (cheated wife/hubby) in catching the cheater on the actual scene of infidelity. Some relationships were mended while some are not. I guess the good thing about that show is that both parties realized their faults.
That DNA testing show is kinda awkward. I mean, how can a woman broadcast such sensitive thing to the world? I don't think it's a thing to be proud of, not a thing to be broadcasted.

There is quite a bite reality shows in America; quite of few of them are people acting or doing dumb stuff.. There are a lot of people that think that is enteranment.. I do not.. I think it is down right degrading and pointless.. Some people think that the only way they can be in the spotlight is by doing something outragous.. Its kind of like in school; there are some kids that do all of their work, get along with their peers, and do what they are told.. Tnen there are some kids for one reason or another; misbehave, and act crazy.. A way for them to gain attention.. Kids love and need a lot of attention; when they feel like they are not getting enough.. They will continue to act in a certain way to get what they want.. In my opinion there are some adults that want that same attention and they have never grown up..

Indeed, every one wants the spotlight no matter how dirty they may turn into. However I just can't imagine myself exposed on tv if I happen to be in that situation. People are not thinking sometimes.

I heard about DNA testing but I dont know why this need because the parents cheating with child or child cheating with parents. Last week I heard a man denied a women is not his wife but women told yes I am a wife of him. Then police are saying to Dr. for DNA test and after DNA test this is proved the women is the wife of that man and child is from both of them. I also watch this type of show and write the story here about husband, wife and child.

More and more children today are born and their parents are not married and never intend on getting married in the future.. This is sad, not right but is still happening none of the less.. There is a lot of cheating or supposive cheating going on.. Because of this there are doubts and/or questions about parternity...

these shows do my head in! they are sensationalist shows that are cheap to make and because they have good ratings we get a cavalcade of copy cat shows.
I suspect you have to do what i do and avoid them at all costs.
I get so annoyed with my 20 yr old son because he loves them. why do people get such a kick out of others suffering? i guess it makes ours lifes more palatable.

Your son is also young yet.. I am guessing but I between he is out of high school.. So he proably sees those shows as the he said she said games that are in high school.. Which is actually pretty sad.. Expanding on that the thought it is that way but there is a child in the middle of it.. Thats the sad part..
Life could always be worst; and yes sometimes in a very gultity way its nice to know that I am not the only one.. even though i know that there is always another person some where around the world that has it worst then I do.. Its a way to keep going..

I don't watch those shows. I can't believe all that drama and I wonder why on earth these women would get up on t.v. and admit to going to bed with all of those men. My daughter in law was watching one of those shows one day and there was a girl on their that called 8 guys in and had DNA tests run and none of then was the father. I would be to embarrassed to get up on national t.v. and tell the world that I was that promiscuous. Sometimes I wonder if they are getting paid or if those shows are staged. I just know I don't waste my time with them.

Yes those shows are really dumb now.. I mean it was cool when they first came out.. But that was back before DNA testing was an every day thing.. The cost was crazy high.. I guess with all of the drama and attention over the years the prices have gone considerable lower... In the end the child is the one that suffers regardless if it is some kind of scam to get their 15 mintues of fame or extra attention or what ever the case may be.. My sister watches these kinds of shows so every once and a while I will see one or two stories every so often.. But if she didnt watch them at all.. I wouldnt waste my electric to watch those shows...
