I wonder if it's worth to save money and not enjoy going out

Sometimes I feel like I am depriving myself to enjoy life and go out if I would just save the money and not use it to pay for transportation and food in the malls and etc. But when I get so bored at home I would just go out and spend nd my money. My friend would spend whatever money he has to pay for his expenses in transportation and food just to see his friends. And he would stay on his friends place and chip in for the food and for other expenses like going to different places. Transportation is not getting cheap so it can slash a big amount on anyone's budget. Sometimes it is as expensive as the cost of your one meal in fast food for one way trip. And getting back is another big amount and of course you would get hungry and buy your own food and etc. I but I won't want to always be alone at home.

well you could still go along with your friends. though you would have to do it less frequently, like just do it once in a week or so. that way, you could still earn, and at the same time you would have had saved enough for a trip to wherever you wanted to.

Times are really hard now and money is equally hard to come by, that is why other luxuries like entertainment takes the backseat in the budget. But I don't think it is wrong to be so stuck up with saving money to the point that you no longer enjoy going out and seeing how things are around you, or with friends. Having fun is also crucial to our health and well-being. Besides, even if we have to spend some money for this, it doesn't have to be really expensive just to have fun. And once or twice a month is fine.

It can be so difficult in this day and age to try and save money yet still have a social life.

I think that one saves money for his future but the problem is some people who save money for their own future do not take into considerations that they also have to take care of themselves to make sure that they would still reach that future. They simply ignore their health and would just save money so when the future comes, they can no longer enjoy their savings as they are mostly sick and weak. So always have a balance view of everything. Saving is not bad, but you also have to look after yourself.

I admire you for having the habit of saving money. Most young people, even adults now a days spends money more than they can earn. Saving means "no to excessive spending". You can have saving and at the same time enjoy your life. You can stay at home for three weeks and go out every 4th week to enjoy whatever you want to do. Have a nice day hotsummer!

I have been asking myself the same question for a while now. There are so many things that I want to buy and do, but money is a big problem as always. I also feel that since I am young, why should I be depriving myself of so many things. Life is suppose to be fun and we must always enjoy it. Nowadays, it is hard to keep up with the budget I plan every single month because something always come up when you least expect it to. I also hate the idea of being alone at home, especially during weekends.

I am in that situation at the moment, because I am trying really hard to save money. Some time ago I visited a friend who lived in another part of the country and I spent far too much money that day - transportation, food, drinks etc, but I had such a good time and I think that it was worth it. It is fine (and neccesary) to save money, but sometimes I need let myself enjoy a day out. You could do the same thing. Stay at home and save money in your daily life and let yourself spend some money on day with your friend once a month. That would give you something to look forward to do and you enjoy it a lot more when you don't do it very often.

hi there hotsummer.. I'm kinda in that situation too but I like thinking that I got money wherein I can always use when I need it or emergency arises. But I still make sure that I treat myself especially if I've done something great and I think I really fulfilled something. More often than not, I treat myself with games though, I'm not really into eating out and I'm not so much of an outgoing person and I prefer roaming around by myself. Have a nice day!

I think it is a great idea to save up some money at home and not do stuff for a while. But I do think it would get boring to be always be at home and save up a huge amount of money and then not spend it. I would seem pointless to save up the money for a long time and not use it. I think you should be able to go out once in a while and travel and spend the money that you work so hard to save as a reward for yourself. Because I think it would be boring to spend all your time home alone.
