i feel so sad when mylot seems empty.

If there is a will there is a way. In the absence of notifications there are ways to navigate here. If everyone did that this place would buzz with activity. Most are waiting for those notifications. I am a busy body, having enough on my plate when myLot plays the hide and seek game.

I'm just back from an extended absence. I think I leave for some of the reasons you mention here in this discussion and your responses. When I first joined MyLot several years ago, the discussions seemed to be more meaty although there were the shallow conversations as well. When it gets quiet or all I can find is the shallow talk, I go elsewhere. What do I do when not here? I am on other websites, or doing things that I am interested in which is why I have a list of interests. LOL I watch tv shows, movies, read, write, spend time with my family, play with my dog, photography, music, and many other things. I'm back for another try. Third time is the charm they say. My first round here I made some money. The second time I didn't break the payout boundary mostly because I just could not find the kinds of discussions I want to participate in. I'm not here just for the money like I think some are. I need the meat of the discussions to keep me here. It's not just about the pennies I can earn here. I have more interesting things going on than to spend time trying to eek out pennies day after day while being totally bored. So I try to start good conversations and try to follow good conversations. When I can't find them, I leave. As for notifications, I never cared about those either and don't ever bother with those. I have a method to how I follow and respond to discussions and don't need the notifications.

When traffic is slow I usually try to make traffic. I don't have as active a life as some on here so I don't have alot of ideas for discussions. When I am not on here I am usually on Facebook or interacting with my family. Watching tv falls in there somewhere too.

Tell me about it! I have been struggling for weeks, since most of my friends seem to be either AWOL or only drop in for brief looks and then go again. And since I have always found that 90% of what goes on here is, for various reasons, unanswerable, it's been soooooo boring. I'm like you: no notifications, I go to Started, Responded, Friends Started, and then through the same lot as you mentioned. Sometimes lately I have done that ten or twelve times in a day and found maybe one thing I can reply to. It's frustrating. Lash

Im surprised that you feel like this because i find that there is always something going on mylot and there is always good discussions going on. If you cant find any good discussions you can always start one and people will mostly reply this should keep you interested. But it is sad there isnt any real interesting discussions going on.

I kind of go to work, don't work there, come back, eat and sleep. That's my life for now. Check my mails many times and go through myLot notifications ONLY THERE. That's why I was so curious about this silence and decided to check it at last! So it seems notifications have been shut down... no problem. I never promise to be here anyway. Though those notifications are a great aid when comments are posted for one.

I find it so frustrating when I want to really active on my lot and the site is really quiet with hardly anyone starting discussions that I can respond to. Quite often this is when I have a lot of free time which I could potentially respond to a large number of posts,usually when I'm motivated to make a lot of posts.Though luckily this doesn't happen very often and I haven't had this problem for a while I have been able to respond to plenty of discussions.As the rate of discussions started has been a lot faster than the rate I can answer them.

I do most of my Mylot typing when I am at home and in front of my desktop company. I can't do it at work because then the boss or other co-workers would see me do it and I would get into trouble and possibly get fired for it. When I am at home and there is no kinds of new discussions then I would browse through some old discussions and choose which ones are interesting to me and reply to them.

Yah, it's so quiet I can hear you biting your nails! I suspect part of this has something to do with the lack of notifications??? The kids are sickies today and they are enjoying my homemade applesauce while watching Adventure Time . . . so now I get some myLot time. Ohh - kids are done - myLot time over.

I have been here constantly for 2 days, though those were the time I came to notice the notification not coming, mylot being boring as there seems to be no changes on Today's Top discussion, so I left, all that matters is earning on the internet and I have got to be elsewhere. Up till this moment Mylot still feels empty.

Ive never felt mylot was empty. If I respond to all posts I want to. I just go back to older ones. We have some good posters here at mylot. Love it.

Haha, it does seem like myLot has been slow the past few days, hmmm... Anyway, I am busy with work, and can only log in for a few minutes each day/night. But I try to come here whenever I can and check on the discussions. It's been hard tracking my interests these past week though, because I didn't receive any notifications :/ Start some new discussions ;)

hi ajk hatley is here lol,.oh don't bite your nails,makes them all sore. lol.when not on m lot well I spent an hour to get the remainder of my social security and SSi check after rent and board had been taken out,. then came back up here and tried to buy some stamps on line and did not accomplish it as I could not remember my user name. so came back and mylotted a lot just trying to get over being upset with USPs.

I am sorry that you feel sad that everyones gone.. I had to spend some quality time with my boys afterschool.. would love to be on here 24/7 but that is not possible...lol When mylot is slow and the email notications are down again; I will go to my friends list and start looking at past discussions to see if I posted or not.. Would like to just start a whole bunch of discussions just to get things rolling again but I do not know if others would look at it that way or for extra money... which isnt the case.. Like you said it can get rather boring actually a couple times throughout the day/night for me.... So what do you think about posting lots of discussions just to get the ball rolling again??

Most of people join here to learning,sharing,and earning.And they seems want to extra money from other place.Maybe they're still busy with their own business.Manage own business needs to focus all day,so they don't have time to work in mylot.You can try to create unique topic to discuss.I am sure it will get lots of responses.And don't forget to add some friends.As much as you can.

I also feel bore if no traffic on mylot and get less responses. Now no traffic in my inbox also because no notifications received. I worked my house work when not work in mylot.

I work in the office from Monday till Saturday and I do mylot during lunchbreaks. If not, I just sleep here. When Sunday morning, the connection is fast so I do mylot fast too. But when the connection becomes slow, that's the time we just watch a movie or do something else like board games. But I know mylot will never be empty because we are from different time zones. Like at night here, mylot time is very early morning.

Here I am! When I'm not on mylot I am everywhere else. I usually have 6-10 open screens doing other stuff trying to make some money. I live in front of the computer. Although, sometimes I actually leave the house. I run out to the career center and see what's going on, stop at the store for water and stuff that's quick and easy to eat at the computer. Sometimes I get up to feed the cats. I have to or they may begin to gnaw at my feet. I even get to sleep once in a while. As soon as I get up I stagger over to the computer and try to focus. Not easy to do. As you get older it seems to take more time to shake off the fog of sleep. I cruise the job sites looking, looking, ever hopeful but to no avail. And, like you and Lash, I'm not finding much to respond to. Ooh! Yesterday I went out to a car insurance place to change my insurance to a cheaper company. That was exciting! Not. Yes, I have no life - anymore. Sigh. I mostly rely on the "friends started". Okay. Gotta go. But I'll be back.
