There is so much of poverty all around the world.A lot of people suffer hunger pangs when others waste food thoughtlessly. Some people spend too much on exotic food and lavish parties, when hundreds of children are hungry and under nourished.Food security should be ensured for all the existing inhabitants on earth. We should not become greedy and selfish and waste food.A lot of people have life style diseases because they eat too much while the old and the infirm go with out proper food.We can eradicate poverty by being less selfish.Share our excess food with the less fortunate,do not waste food.Make enough to satisfy and not to splurge.Form an organisation, that can collect excess food and distribute to orphanage and destitute home.Plant more food crops to bring food prices down. Finally do not waste but always preserve to use in lean periods. We can preserve fruits and vegetables in season to be used in lean period.Do not hoard food in excess to cause starvation to others.Share and help to bring food security to the whole world.

Wanting to eradicate poverty is a worthwhile endeavor, however all the scenarios that you are talking about can only happen all over in a perfect world, and this world is not perfect. One just has to accept that. If YOU started this type of organization, you will be able to help a lot of people, but you will not be able to help all of the people, that is just a fact.
One could argue, "But if everywhere, all over the world, if people did this type of thing..." Yes...but people are NOT going to do this all over the world, why? Because it is not a perfect world.
And since you have written so passionately about this, are you going to start this type of organization?

I totally agree it is much too complicated a process to say yeah am gonna get it done in one life time when it has existed since the world began in different forms, one could say if you are a devout christian that it began since we were cast out of the garden of Eden.

Hi,
It is an age-old question addressed by many thoughts of all ages, sought by Philosophers, experimented by scientists, made war for conquerors and philanthropists alike, still the problem persists. It is a natural state of the world and nobody seems to be able to change it no matter how hard they tried or put forward suggestions after suggestions, moral teachings, values and strategies. I have lost count of the ways and means to eradicate poverty and when a person offers a solution, I always assume a wait and see attitude.

I agree it is a huge problem with so many sides and unless all sides are fixed at once then nothing will change the only problem is one person or one state does not have the power or money to do this and each state views different problems as more important than other which makes the problem ever present.

I think to eradicate hunger we would have to eradicate all human faults. You have some good ideas, and organizations have been formed in this same way. But as long as human beings have flaws these organizations can only go so far.. I like a group called 700 Club. One thing they do is go to poor lands and dig wells, that's a first step. I know nations which have more sometimes send relief to poor nations not so well off, only to have some despot or dictator confiscate it and use it for their own evil intentions.

It could be heaven for everyone but for greed. How can we eradicate poverty becomes how can we eliminate greed?

We cannot help everybody all the world to stop poverty,it is something over our head, the only area we can help in some ways giving to Food Bank, giving to use clothing, giving directly to some you know that are in need, close enough I mean in your surrounding. And for the rest of them, leave them between God's hands, because they'll be always poor people in this world.

Poverty can be eradicated by early childhood literacy programs for the poor. Second, because I believed that education is the key to solve poverty. If we have quality education, then we might as well assure that most people will have a successful and quality life in the future. Aside from that, there should be debt pardons. So that families who were already bankrupt could avail their assets back again from their debtors. :)

I think we cannot but yes I agree with you everyone can do their part. Not wasting food is one, donating to charitable institution is another, conducting feeding to the depressed areas is also a great project. It will surely help.
But what I wish for a long term solution that will work. I really do not know what and how but I just hope someday there will be less hungry kids in the streets.

In my opinion, to completely eradicate poverty in any country is to have a corrupt-free government. We have to admit, that these people sitting in various government positions do use their powers in getting money more than what they need. Sadly, their corruption makes a lot of people suffer. If these money that they keep for themselves are spent in providing jobs and making primary commodities more affordable, I think everyone will be living happily.
