That's right! My neighborhood consists of people my age and they are for the most part techno impaired. I mean they probably don't know how to turn a computer on. That doesn't bother me as much as those who think their connected by owning a computer having an email address and a facebook page but never use it. They freely and proudly give out their contact information but never use it. They want physical pictures in their hand, not emailed to them. They in reality have an expensive way to play solitaire. An offer to teach them falls on deaf ears. So if you're in your fifties do you know many people with this impairment?

I think this is true for those people of that age, who are not employed, and not that much educated. Because nowadays, when you are employed, you more or less are taught on how to use a computer, because almost all offices are with computers now.

Yeah, sure, I know a lot of people in their fifties that qualifies to be techno impaired. Some have cell phones and didn't even bother to learn or read text messages more so on using computers.Mostly old people are contrary to change their habit and are not adept to new technology. A friend of mine asserts that he has live for over 50 years without them so what makes the difference.

I am not in my fifties, but I know some people that are older that either own a computer for games like solitare and nothing else.. And then others that refuse to have one.. They are too worried about their identites being stolen.. Or They prefer to keep things the way they use to be.. The world is moving to fast for them already.. and they feel like they cant keep up so why try...

I know a lot of people in their fifties who doesn't know how to use computers. They say it is not really important to them. They can't earn money from it. That they can live without it. They are not really interested in learning how to manipulate it even if I offered to teach them.

Computers, mobile phones, and all can be communication, brings people to learn how to use them, they also shorten the distance of people's communication elongated talking together, the distance between the people, for the older generation, prefer to come together to exchange.

Generally people are resistant to change. They are so accustomed to what they have used before new things arrive and for them it is better to stick on the old ways than learn a new thing. I do know some. My parents are in their late 70's and for them learning to use the computer is hard. I have taught them a lot of times already but still they can't do it alone and would ask me and my siblings to help them set it up when they want to chat with relative abroad. I might say right now I am still knowledgeable with the current technologies but sooner or later we will be the same predicament as the technologically impaired persons in your neighborhood.

Hi, Some are too tired to learn new tricks, I see them everywhere. Maybe, I was nearing one too, having to cling to old gadgets and refusing to upgrade to newer ones. That way I understand the reason why. But having to play solitaire on an expensive machine is too much, they should try at least Flight Sim or Left Behind if they have 8GB RAM and 2GB VRAM on a 3.0GHz processor system. I don't have those either, maybe in the future if the price drops off to manageable levels.
