As I'm watching tv entitled "Saving Money Through Piggy Bank" I am wondering are you all aware of "piggy bank"? I hope someone can explain it to others who have not encounter that words yet.:)
Well its one way of saving money of your own..Parents do encouraged their children to save money rather than buying stuffs which is not important.
In relation to that, since Christmas is on our way, i have started two months ago, saving coins by 5 and 10 cents, sometimes 5 to 8 coins a day-not bad huh ..I am planning or use it for buying stuffs/gifts for the street children on Christmas day.It is also one good way of sharing your blessings to the less fortunate.
Let us be a blessing to other.

Remind me of olden days (nyay)
Yes, piggy bank is common during our days (how many decades gone)
But now the youngsters seems to shrug the idea of savings using piggy bank.
Well, good for those who have bank account/s wherein they can put their savings.
I remember the fun of savings using piggy bank especially when it's almost full.
Can't resist dreaming of what to buy when the occasion comes near (X-mas time)
It's always good to share blessings with the others.
I have done it for more than 14 years now and still counting

I have three piggy banks at home. They are beautiful as I have brought them from vacations. I don`t place there all my coins as I feel it`s not fair. But when I do a job I should pay someone to do, I "pay" myself by placing all the change I can find in my piggy Banks. When they are too heavy, I change the coins and place the bills inside a small piggy Bank that is just for that purpose. All the money I have there is for traveling and I get a very decent amount after a few months.

Yes,I have been using this kind of money saving techniques and at the end of each month,I mange to gather around 20-30$ and thus get a little extra pocket money to spend in the next month.I have always used it for my own.You have given a nice idea of getting some thing for the needy as a Christmas or new-year gift.I guess,it is kind of doing godly work within our reach.I would gather something before this year's Christmas. Cheers.

I don't find it helpful when you really want to save your money. It's much more better if you deposit your money to the bank. :)

I've tried saving coins many times, I have this one small container at home where I put all the excess money everyday. For example, I set PhP 200.00 for my everyday expenses at work, and if there's any amount left I placed them in that container. Then after a month, I use those savings to cover some parts of our monthly bills.

I use a bucket for my 'piggy bank.' Pennies & nickels & dimes I get back in change, I'll usually gather together and give to my church (either at the children's offering or in the kitchen downstairs).
That's what such change is to me ... overflow of my abundance. I keep my needs pretty low, so my 'overflow' (abundance I have over-&-above my need) becomes greater as my abundance increases.
Sorta.
Really, I keep any abundance that is not yet pennies-&-nickels-&-dimes---storing it away to restore 'my need' when that money is running low.

In a way it is really helpful, not that much but it could really help somehow. It is a good way to start saving money even in small amount then eventually getting bigger without noticing it.We really have to practice it cause it could really help one way or another.

yes friend, it is helpful, it helps the children to learn uses of saving money and wastage and its results. I used to save money from childhood and also use piggy bank, till now. But it was really difficult to save money in the starting, i used to save only for name sake and again used to spend it. But i made up my mind one day, tat i wont spend again, From then on wards i made it a habit.

I have my own piggy bank and I have it for years. I don't just look at it whenever I am in a dilemma of being broke. LOL. I just don't want to use it as an emergency money because I think that I can ask for someone else to lend me money. I love saving and I have my own time deposit as well. I want everything good in my future and when my piggy bank went into million coins, I don't know where am I going to put it..inside my cabinet or inside refrigerator? Hahaha!

It is always helpful to save money. One may not know the importance of saving money, even the smallest or cheapest coin can help one day when summed up. I've always been doing that since I was little, even up to now it really works and helps especially when I am short of money.
We save money because of many reasons. Most of the time we save for personal and to gratify our desire for something like buying something for ourselves. Others save because they needed insurance for the future or to help others. Whatever reason we have, saving money in a piggy bank is a good discipline for us to learn the value of money. Well, it doesn't have to be a "piggy bank" as long as where you put your money is safe for keeping. :)
