I went in today for day 8 of cycle 4 on my topotecan treatments. My counts were good so the treatment went on! I asked the nurse about the results from last week's CA-125 test since I did not receive a call with the information. I was really surprised and pleased because the count was down to 27.9. That is within the normal range! I hope that it goes into single digits before they finish with cycle 6 and that it will stay that way for another 7 or 8 years (or forever?)! I will be happy to be able to stop doing treatments because then I can stop doing to Lovenox shots to prevent blood clots again. I might have to stay on some form of treatment for that problem, but it wouldn't be as miserable as the shots that leave my belly bruised most of the time. I am so glad I don't wear skimpy clothes that show my belly when it looks like that! Have a great week!!!

It is great to hear that your tumor marker is down. That is definitely a sign that you are going to be in a remission and that you will be free of this for at least a while. From there I suppose it is a matter of hoping that the remission that you reach is a long-lasting remission.
I continue to hope for this for you and all of the friends that I've made on mylot that have been through cancer treatments.
I realize that I've never been there myself, but I do have some idea since I've been the primary caregiver of my husband through his battle.

Thanks for responding! I like to think that this time will last as long or longer than the first remission was. My doctor said last year that she believed that if I did get into remission that it might last another 7-8 years so I hope she was right. I'm so glad that she wants to keep going rather than just stopping because I am in the normal range because that way maybe it will last longer. Have a great weekend!!!

It took me a bit to figure out what ra was. I hope that doesn't get you either. I hope you stay in good health the rest of your life! Have a great weekend!!!

Thanks for the response! I have been busy with school, but have tried to post at least once a month about results if something good happened. I hope that I am able to get in here more often soon as I have only two more weeks in this class and I will finish my last class by December 17. I will have a lot more time available after that. Have a great weekend!!!
