very bad. people are suffering because of this. Here in Goa we have not had power cuts but there are lots of other problems like the Gas problem. They are not giving enough gas to the houses. They have cut down to 6 cylinders per household in a year. and from this month they have stopped coming here to give Gas. I had to take it on my bike to bring a filled one from the city. I have to cross the ferry and go. It was so hectic. I hate the system. We in FIJI have nothing like this. We don't even have any papers for cylinder. If is finishes we just go top the shop and buy a new one.. I am getting fed up of the stupid paper works in India. we have applied for a ration card. it has been one year now and we still haven't got one. How to manage , things are becoming very complicated and uneasy. For one small thing you have to get this paper and that paper. and the government employees are like they don't know there job. They have not been telling the correct procedure for anything. I am upset and feel

I do not understand why the hell they introduced these power cut. And, the sudden increase in the rate is making our life miserable. I have got a bill of 4000 rupees and am wondering how do I get billed with such huge amount when there are several planned and unplanned power cuts!

Here in Kerala we have power cuts for one hour per day half and hour on night time and the rest of the half in the day on early morning. Really such doings from the government really put us people in troubles. Anyway we people have to adjust with it.

Here in Andhra Pradesh we have 3 times a day, morning two hours, after noon two hours and evening one hour, this is really horrible. I don't know why we are facing such difficulty, the reservoirs are all full with water , due to the recent rains. They also gave statements in newspaper ,that this year we wont have any problem , but the same story repeats.

It is sad when you continue to see the Economy all around the world being affected in some way, and you often wonder what it will take to change it. Things like Power are quite important but if their are not ways to supply it they need to come up with better solutions than this. I guess all you can do is Pray, and hope somehow better solutions will be found so others will not have to suffer like this.

This is what happens when freebooters, scroundels and incompetent swines get power. By power I mean political and administrative power, not electrical power. The primary purpose of the electricity board is apparently to pay salaries of its employees, not to produce power. The powers that be were too busy with their 2G, highway, real estate scams etc to anticipate any shortfall in power and take adequate countermeasures. The present crisis I believe was triggered when the former CM invited industries promising them cheap and guaranteed power. Apparently, when industries come, his benami land and the land of his oligarch group around Sriperembadur would rise considerably in value. If the rest of the state is plunged into darkness so what? If someone questions them, their justification is that "We have provided jobs!"

I think this problem are increasing in all over India now in Maharshtra, Akola city 12 hours power cut in a day. Some women take a morcha for it but no effects on Govt. Now no general public understand what is doing Govt. and politics only running behind money not understand the problems of general public.

here in our city too we are experiencing power cut 3 to 4 times a day, i really hate it. the electricity was back to normal already without those annoying blackouts for about 4 months and now recently, the same issue is coming back again to our city. i don't know what is the big problem again why there is more black outs here these days. well, i can imagine how it is there in your place. it really is a burden. hope it can be resolved soon.

Thanks a ton for posting this discussion. Yes i can understand what u are going through because of this persistent power cuts. I could figure it out pretty well as u had earlier also expressed your anger in your previous discussions as well. I think its time that u and your community members write a letter to Jayalalitha regarding this and take some immediate action. It is unbearable to have such conditions in today's world. What say?

Why do they do this? To save power for everyone? Once in california with the heat they did this as to not overload everything there.

Hi, This is less time when compared to the 8 to 10 hour cuts in south chennai like madurai etc.No matter what the reason, this is something which no one should have to face, especially after paying our taxes and all other stuff counting towards revenue. But though we discuss it in forums, there seems to be no solution really.

I read many responses here.. Is it because the government runs things and has control of the resources and the running of things?
